About 80 percent of people agree that children should be permitted to play football despite the risk of injury associated with it, a new poll says.

Nearly three quarters of the 1002 polled by Fairleigh Dickinson University/PublicMind also said they were aware of a $914 settlement between the National Football League and former players over traumatic brain injuries. A federal judge last week blocked the ruling.
