High school senior Mark Betterson stepped in when he saw classmate Jonathan Colon being attacked by a bully in the lunchroom at East Lee County High School in Lehigh Acres, Florida last Thursday and found himself facing a ten day suspension and possible expulsion for his good deed.

Colon, who is openly gay was attacked by James Griffin who first threw milk in his face and used a gay slur before beginning to beat him.
