Jim Fregosi, Former Phillies Manager, Dies After Suffering Severe Stroke

Former Phillies manager Jim Fregosi, 71, passed away Friday morning after suffering a stroke last week while on a cruise to the Cayman Islands.

News of Fregosi's passing was first told to USA Today by Jim Fregosi's son, Jim Fregosi Jr., who said family was at his father's bedside at the passing.

Fregosi, who managed the Phillies from 1991-1996, suffered the stroke last week while on a cruise from the Cayman Islands for Major League Baseball alumni.
