Well, Rushbo's words have had an impact on our Republican Congressional nutcases writing their budget proposals. Josh Marshall at TPM:
I'm not sure why this isn't a bigger deal. I hadn't heard about it other than in this brief passage tucked away in a Politico article about the House GOP agriculture bill. But it takes a small program intended provide meals to children in the school lunch program during the summer months and says it can now only be used to benefit kids in "rural areas".
In other words, "urban" kids are now out of luck.
Not urban kids, Josh. Inner-city lazy rotten moochers. Not the sweet little rural dwellers living with their white parents in their white trailers. No, the ones they want to starve are those inner-city sons and daughters of inner-city "urban dwellers" who happen to have a darker skin color and who are Republicans' preferred scapegoats For Everything Wrong With This Country.
