Chris Matthews, still in Christie's corner, laments on the tough job the Bridgegate Governor has in Jersey. But his record shows he's done nothing to earn anyone's sympathy.
September 11, 2014

Today's a pretty lousy day. Pistorius is not guilty, 9/11 marks its sad 13th anniversary and Standard and Poors has downgraded Chris Christie's New Jersey for the EIGHTH TIME. The Morning Republican Joe show on MSNBC had on Chris Matthews to give his take on the current situation for the embattled New Jersey Republican.

Tweety laments Governor Christie is such a victim,

"as a Republican, he has to take on the unions, and...you're always the bad guy."

Why do Republicans feel they must crush the unions? It's simple. Everything, including the education of our children, must be profit-driven. The Christie Administration began a wholesale closing of neighborhood public schools and transfer of valuable real estate to private entities like charters, this year. To combat that, the city of Newark began Newark One, a community driven program created to supplement the savage cuts the Christie Administration has waged on poorer New Jersey cities.

The 800 pound gorilla in the room is always the GWB scandal that won't go away, as more and more evidence mounts that the governor knew exactly what was going on. This man has given Chris Matthews virtually no reason to express sympathy, unless of course, he's got a stake in the embattled governor's Presidential Campaign. Who knows? But this attitude that Christie is a "center right" hopeful is as absurd as Christie's record.

The Garden State, since 2010 has been among the bottom FIVE states in private sector job increases. He's bungled the recovery fund allocation from Superstorm Sandy and perhaps as a consequence, Atlantic City is in the dumps.

The real truth about Christie can be found by listening to his speaking engagement at the Faith and Freedom Coalition summit. Another sign he's as Right as they come, he vetoed gun background legislation. Please spare us, Mr. Matthews, when you say you "feel for the Governor." He's done NOTHING to earn your sympathy and everything to earn the scorn and criticism he now faces.
