I think this song shows a lot of maturation in Kendrick's sound. The instrumentation is a bit unconventional for hip hop, but I think that only makes the performance more interesting. It sounds album-ready as it is, but it'll be intriguing to see if he makes any changes to it before there's a final, recorded product.
