The Connells brought a pretty interesting spin to Southern rock. The subject matter of their songs is a bit more personal and their sound is somewhat more mellow than other tunes in the genre. There are also traces of new wave in their sound too, which adds some cool sonic textures to the mix. If you haven't checked out The Connells, I highly recommend doing so.
