Martin Luther King’s right-wing niece gave a jaw-dropping “analysis” of President Obama’s Selma speech commemorating the 50th anniversary of “Bloody Sunday.”

Even Fox host Gregg Jarrett called Obama’s speech “very eloquent” and “beautifully written.”

However, hosting Alveda King for commentary all but guaranteed criticism. King, who was signed by Fox just in time to bash the speech, is well known to Fox as an Obama hater. But even so, you’d think she could have found something to like about Obama’s powerful speech.

Jarrett said, “What caught my attention at one point – and there were a great many fine points to be made – but the president said, ‘I reject the notion that nothing has changed in 50 years.’ Prejudice and discrimination back then, he said, were endemic. They are not now. They are more the exception than the rule. Would you agree?”

King, who was not at the Selma march, didn’t answer the question. She must have been too eager to launch into her abortion rant.

KING: I listened very intently to the president and to Congressman Lewis. I could almost see my father there, on that Edmund Pettus Bridge, on Bloody Sunday, with Congressman Lewis and so many others: Hosea Williams, James Orange. And my heart is deeply touched.

I also heard what the president did not say. Of course, many things have changed. And we can admit that. And we’re glad that some things have changed. I’m so delighted that we can all vote. This is America. And I urge everyone to get out and vote. However, what the president did not say, there is a whole group of people – over 55 million – who have been denied the right to vote because they’ve been denied the right to live. The little babies in the womb. Legally. What has changed in the last 50 years: 55 million babies have legally lost their lives by abortion. And denied the right to vote. And yet the largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood is getting $2 million from our tax dollars every day. That’s one thing that has changed.

While King was worrying about unborn fetus’ right to vote, she ignored what Obama had laid out as serious concerns about setbacks in voting rights for people actually qualified to vote: living, breathing grownups.'
