We'll be spending tonight with one of jazz's great bassists and band leaders in the form of Charlie Haden. Aside from his proficiency as a musician and at heading up a band, the man was an equally great collaborator. This guy produced or played with everybody and it never sounded forced. Ornette Coleman, Pat Metheny, Alice Coltrane, Béla Fleck, you name it. Charlie knew how to play and who to play with, simple as that, which are some of the many reasons that we're still missing him today.
