The development team at Playtonic Games has made an effort to resurrect the 3D platformer style that made Rareware games so popular and fun, and it looks like the video gaming community wants them to succeed. Playtonic launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund their project, Yooka-Laylee, a spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie, which was fully funded in forty minutes. Six hours later, they hit a million British pounds, which broke the record for fastest video game project to reach a million on Kickstarter. These guys created a lot of great stuff during their time at Rare and it's good to see them continuing the tradition on their own terms. Hopefully we'll get to see more of this project soon including more music from Grant.
