For the uninitiated, Musica Chicha is a term that refers to Peruvian Cumbia. Formally, Chicha refers to a fermented corn beverage, but, informally, it refers to a cultural movement that I still don't quite understand despite reading about it several times (and still trying). However, I still like the music and regard psychedelic Cumbia to be one of the more creative blends of genres to develop in the past one hundred years of western music.
