Imagine if Schroeder, the piano-playing kid from Peanuts, became a rocker? It’s sort of what Pianosaurus was like. This NY City band popped up in the early '80s and they played live gigs on toy instruments, but the sound wasn’t really childish at all as this cover of the Boxtop’s '60s hit “The Letter" proves. Produced by Peter Holsapple (from the dBs), Pianosaurus was featured in Francis Ford Copola’s “Life Without Zoe” segment in the classic “New York Stories” film. There’s long been a rumor that a second album exists…somewhere.
