One of the intentions of C&L's Late Nite Music Club is to discover music the readers haven't heard before as well as to rediscover music of the past.

Due to 2016 having a huge amount of musicians passing away so far though, the club has started to look like a funeral service. Because of this we will now start posting passings in the entertainment section. This will help us keep our remembrances in a post dedicated to the person who has shuffled off this mortal coil as well as making them more current instead of waiting to make an announcement during the Late Nite Music Club's normally scheduled meeting time

The past couple of days have saw the deaths of Earth, Wind and Fire's Maurice White and Dan Hicks. You can share your thoughts and memories on them at their observance posts.

Interestingly enough, I was going through one of many shelves of records I have around my house yesterday and pulled out a copy of Thomas Dolby's 2nd album The Flat Earth. The song that got the most attention from it at it's time of release in 1984 was a faithful yet modern update for it's time take of Dan Hicks "I Scare Myself." At the time I was not really familiar with Mr. Hicks work so this cover of the song was my introduction to him.

What are you listening to tonight?

Can you help us out?
