CNN host Jake Tapper shot down former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani on Sunday for citing a "former pimp" as proof that a woman who accused Donald Trump of sexual assault was not telling the truth.

During an interview on CNN's State of the Union, Tapper noted that nine women came forward last week to dispute Trump's claim that he had never groped or kissed a woman without her permission.

"Do you believe every one of these women is lying?" Tapper asked the former mayor.

"No, I believe my friend Donald Trump when he tells me he didn't do it," Giuliani insisted. "I've never seen him do anything like that."

Although the Trump surrogate admitted that he had not investigated every woman's story, he singled out Jessica Leeds, who has accused the GOP nominee of assaulting her on an airplane in the early 1980s.

"There is an independent witness who says it's not true," Giuliani said.

"That guy who used to procure underage [girls]?" Tapper interrupted with a scowl. "That former pimp guy?"

"You don't pick who the witnesses are," Giuliani opined.

Anthony Gilberthorpe, who has admitted procuring underage boys for sex parties with British politicians, told The New York Post last week that Trump never assaulted Leeds, and in fact, she "was the one being flirtatious."
