Scottish band Mogwai have always done a balancing act of scratchy indie rock and flat out artsy prog. They always sounded as if they were having a grand time balancing something fun and something absolutely serious while doing it. Their last couple album though, it seemed they were ambling along and lacking vision.

After only a couple of listenings so far, their brand new album Every Country’s Sun seems like a return to form of their finer releases. They're back to dirging gracefully as well as floating off in space but with a destination fully mapped out again.
