At 6:00 PM PST, two competing rallies will commence in El Paso, TX. Beto O'Rourke, who challenged Ted Cruz in 2018 and lost by a narrow margin, will be holding a rally at the very same time Donald Trump's rally is scheduled to begin.
Some backstory here: When Trump smacked El Paso in his State of the Union address, the mayor of that fine city was not very happy. Not at all. El Paso is proud of their low crime rate and they know they don't need a wall for it. So of course, Donald Trump decided El Paso would be a great place to hold a rally.
As Ali Vitali noted this morning, the attendees for the Trump rally are mostly NOT from El Paso. Some have driven 9 hours to see Trump hold a rally. They follow him all over the country in their RVs to worship at the altar of Trump. I like to call them "MAGAbonds."
Meanwhile, Beto O'Rourke does a good job with big rallies too. And El Paso loves him, so it should be interesting. He is expected to organize and lead a "March for Truth" as well.
Also, this is hilarious except that his MAGAbonds will believe him. And just another reminder that the majority of those folks are NOT from El Paso.

This particular stream was shot from a weird angle -- side stage. I found another feed on a local Texas station and took a screenshot of some of the crowd leaving. It was a huge crowd. Huge.

UPDATE: Latest crowd estimates for Beto: 10,000-15,000 people. Here's a snippet of his speech with a better shot of the crowd. Also, his speech was a far better take on immigration and national issues than anything Trump has ever done. That didn't stop Trump from magically exaggerating his crowd size and the threat from immigrants, however.
