C&L's Late Nite Music Club with the Red Hot Chili Peppers

C&L's Late Nite Music Club with the Red Hot Chili Peppers

"Stadium Arcadium" is their first album in four years and "Dani California" is the # 1 video on MTV and one of the most played songs on KROQ.

I really got into RHCP's after I heard the Rick Ruben produced song "Under The Bridge" from the record "Blood Sugar Sex Magik." I thought I would highlight the new instead of the old tonight.

Check out their website and Wikipedia for a bit of history on the band.

UPDATE:

Josh Davis won the REM contest last night so please leave a comment here so I can match your IP address and email me your information so I know where to send your prize. You'll be really happy with it.

O'Reilly vs McCarthy...

What's up with Human Rights Campaign?

What's up with Human Rights Campaign?

Olbermann exposes O'Reilly on Malmedy

Olbermann exposes O'Reilly on Malmedy

While O'Reilly was debating Wesley Clark on his FOX show, Bill once again was short on the facts. It proves my theory once again that some talking heads will say just about anything to make themselves sound right.

(Full rough transcript)

Olbermann: The bodies at Malmedy were not found until a month later. There were 84 of them, all, American soldiers. More than half showed gunshot wounds to their heads. Six had received fatal **blows** to the head. Nine were found with their arms still raised **above** their heads.

The fact that O'Reilly got these horrible facts completely backwards -- twice -- offended even his own usually compliant viewers. From his program **Wednesday** night...Wrong answer.

When you're **that** wrong -- when you're defending Nazi War Criminals and pinning their crimes on Americans, and you get **caught** doing so -- **twice** -- you're supposed to say 'I'm sorry, I was wrong'... and then you should shut up for a long time. Instead, Fox **washed** its transcript of O'Reilly's remarks Tuesday -- its website claims O'Reilly said "In **Normandy**..." when in fact he said "In **Malmedy**..."

The rewriting of past reporting -- worthy of Orwell -- has now carried over into such on-line transcription services as Burrell's and Factiva. Whatever did or did not happen **later**, in supposed or actual retribution... the victims at Malmedy, were **Americans**, gunned down while surrendering -- by **Nazis** in 1944 -- and again, Tuesday Night and Wednesday Night -- by a false patriot who would rather be loud than right.

"In Malmedy, as you know" Bill O'Reilly **said** Tuesday night, in some indecipherable attempt to defend the events of Haditha, "U.S. forces captured S.S. forces who had their hands in the air and were unarmed and they shot them dead, you know that. That's on the record. And documented."

The victims at Malmedy in December, 1944... were Americans. **Americans** with their hands in the air. **Americans** who were unarmed. That's on the record. And documented.

And their memory deserves better than Bill O'Reilly.

We **all** do.

New BBC video report on the possibility of more civilian deaths
BBC: "The video appears to challenge the US military's account of events that took place in the town of Ishaqi in March. The US said at the time four people died during a military operation, but Iraqi police claimed that US troops had deliberately shot the 11 people. A spokesman for US forces in Iraq told the BBC an inquiry was under way...read on"

Peter Daou: As I wrote earlier, rightwing bloggers have come unhinged over Haditha:

"Michelle Malkin posts an LGF photo of Palestinian children carrying weapons - the implication being? That shooting children is justified?

Glenn Reynolds links to a comment threatening civil war in the US.

At RCP, Jed Babbin writes, "If it were up to Cong. John Murtha, Duke University rape case prosecutor Mike Nifong would be transferred to the Haditha case."

If this BBC report is accurate, expect more extreme rhetoric from these rightwing bloggers as they cling to the tattered remnants of their fictional moral justification for this misadventure."

Cafferty: ID's will exclude voters

Cafferty: ID's will exclude voters

Jack got off another blast at the GOP over their attempts to slip in legislation in the immigration bill to make voters present federally mandated photo ID's. Florida is once again at the heart of it as they have already passed legislation that will hurt the League of Women Voters. We all know what happened in Ohio were they didn't have enough voting machines in the poorest districts so that people wouldn't turn out the vote.

Cafferty: Don't kid yourself. This stuff isn't happening accidentally. These are calculated moves by people in power to corrupt the system in such a way that they are able to remain in power.

Wolf..get ready for a lot of angry emails from our viewers I suspect...

Olbermann's World's Worst: John Gibson

No. 3, Ad (ph) Vandenberg, one of the founder of Holland‘s Charity Freedom and Diversity political party. Nice name for a party except their only political aim is to lower the age of consent from 16 to 12. They‘re pedophiles. Conveniently, in a recent poll in Holland, 82% of respondents said the government should do something to outlaw the party, let alone pedophilia.

No. 2, Merman (ph) Robinson, far right republican now seeking the congressional seat from 13th district of North Carolina, and setting a lovely tone for this year‘s campaign by running a radio ad already in which he says of his opponent, quote, "If he had his way, America would be nothing but one big fiesta for illegal aliens and homosexuals." Gay bashing, immigrant bashing, Hispanic bashing, you left out Terri Schiavo, pal.

But our winner, John Gibson of FOX News claiming the lead in the race for the biggest rationalization of (UNINTELLIGIBLE), quoting John, "If Iraqis know their own history, they know massacres have been committed in Iraq by warring parties from millennia piled on millennia. This is the part of the world that was in on the massacre game early,” unquote.

Well, that‘s already then. What‘s one more massacre, huh? John Gibson, today's "Worst Person in the World."

The Purpose Driven Life Takers-Part II

The Purpose Driven Life Takers-Part II

After I posted this story on 5/30, (I helped crash his server, sorry buddy) author Jonathan Huston wrote a sequel.

Strap on your seat belts and hold onto your dashboard Jesus, because the story of how this violent, theocratic video game is being network marketed through pastors and churches only gets deeper and stranger from here.

"A top aide to mega-church pastor Rick Warren is advising the makers of a children's video game in which characters kill New Yorkers while shouting "Praise the Lord." When children tire of converting or killing New Yorkers, they can switch sides and command the demonic armies of the AntiChrist, and kill the conservative Christians. The real-time strategy game, slated for release in October 2006, is based on the best selling series of Left Behind novels by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins. The web site of Left Behind Games states the involvement of Mark Carver on its Advisory Board. This web-based marketing tool also highlights his role as Executive Director of Mr. Warren's Purpose Driven Church. What appears to be going on here is an old-fashioned business practice called "endorsement by association."...read on"

More Problems for McCain

More Problems for McCain

Family Research Council President Tony Perkins:

“Hillary Clinton kicked off her reelection campaign for the United States Senate today amid speculation that she will be a candidate for president in 2008. That gives her at least two commonalities with John McCain, a potential presidential candidate who is giving lip service to marriage while refusing to protect it.”
