Everybody knows Obama is the Anti-Christ -- except for the people who believe it's Pope Francis.

PPP took a poll about popularly-held conspiracy theories and revealed some pretty revealing things about Republican voters.

  • 61% of Romney voters believe global warming is a "hoax" -- as do 71% of people who describe themselves as "very conservative."
  • 34% of Republican voters believe "a secretive power elite with a globalist agenda is conspiring to eventually rule the world through an authoritarian world government"

Book learnin' is a hoax! The UN is comin' for my guns and bible!

But here's the kicker:

  • 20% of Republicans believe the President of the United States is the anti-Christ.

This result, by the way, wasn't a fluke. It's nearly identical to a Harris Poll study from 2010.

As part of their "rebranding" efforts, Republican leaders might want to explore how it came to be that a fifth of their voters are crazy people.
