defense contractor KBR may have exposed as many as 100,000 people, including US troops, to cancer-causing toxins by burning waste in open-air pits in Iraq, says a series of class-action lawsuits filed against the company.
At least 22 separate lawsuits claiming KBR poisoned American soldiers in Iraq have been combined into a single massive lawsuit that says KBR, which until not long ago was a subsidiary of Halliburton, sought to save money by disposing of toxic waste and incinerating numerous potentially harmful substances in open-air "burn pits."
According to one of the lawsuits (PDF), filed in a federal court in Nashville, KBR burned "tires, lithium batteries ... biohazard materials (including human corpses), medical supplies (including those used during smallpox inoculations), paints, solvents, asbestos insulation, items containing pesticides, polyvinyl chloride pipes, animal carcasses, dangerous chemicals, and hundreds of thousands of plastic water bottles."

She's 11+ now, and she has harder and harder times adjusting to my work schedule. She's been at a friend's with about four other dogs, chickens and a yard to play in near San Diego for almost two months.
Now it'll be back to having to spend most of her time alone in a motel while I'm out doing the daily grind north of LA.
I hate putting her through the trauma. She doesn't understand it's bushco's fault, as much as I try to explain it.

I cannot believe she ran that contradictory story about Obama actually rejecting options for more troops. Doesn't she know better than to run stories that refute the outrage expressed here when propted by other news services. I bet she gets a thank you note from Rahm, who has found a way to screw true blue Dem/Greens and sully our Teevee Icon at the same time.

But the fact that he seems to be going public about not trusting Karzai now makes me wonder why the US didn't push harder to give Abdullah a "fair" run-off election.
During the initial election, US sentiment (and likely popular) vote seemed to favor Abdullah. But in the run-off, where was the outrage? Karzai retained his puppeteership practically unchallenged.
We sent them Diebold and ES&S consultants, we fully expected Karzai to be a certain victor.
