Just a habit...............nothing else..................:-)
A while back I read a piece about all the huge "misses" the CIA has had over the years and I began to wonder, "Are they really bad at their job or are they really good?" This whole Iraq sales pitch proves they are really good and their job is to perpetuate instability.
There is no clause stating that presidents aren't allowed to lie to the american public. Neither is there one about preserving lives and property. The constitution describes only a system of governance and everyone's place in it - his being information provider.
More importantly, that's not how the system is designed to work. Collectors collect, analysts analyze, briefers brief (though I don't know what that job exists), and commanders decide what to do with the information. Anything else invites anarchy - remember Truman firing MacArthur for talking about nuking china? It's certain that Mac believed quite thoroughly it was needed to preserve america.
That's why we distinguish between the employees and the elected officials - the latter gets to take the blame when it goes to hell. Bush and Cheney lied us into a war, they are the appropriate target of our ire.
So much for him and his fans being "peace loving Americans."
The Republicans have become such a sorry lot; now they're threatening massive retaliation against unnamed foes. Kinda like schoolyard bullies daring anyone and everyone to attack them.
Fear is still the big motivator for these clowns. Sad to say, it works for their base.
Christie thinks he's the Christ walking among us.F... himI'd rather vote for Pee-Wee Herman for President over Christie ANYDAY..
