It seems as if some rightwing and/or certain Christian types think that their god, however they want to imagine that entity, believe it forbids gay marriage. So since their god doesn't want that to happen then if follows that they don't want it happen. At least that's what they tell us.
I think the truth is that they just hate gay people. And they use this imaginary god entity that they've created to tell them what to do and that's that. End of story. At least that's the way I understand it. Sort of a variation on "if god said, I believe it, end of discussion".
Has anyone got a different take?
I would love to hear from some Christians on the right who don't think gay people should be allowed to get married. That is if any of them are following this thread to explain exactly what their problem is.
