I’m tired of my own anger at politics and police abuse. So I’m going to revive my movie reviews.Depending on who is speaking Idris Elba is either “too street” or “too old” to play James Bond, 007, the man with a license to kill. When the current writer of theBond series says it we know it to be code for “too Black” since the most “street” thing about Elba is the assumption that he walks on some of them. Elba, meanwhile, probably means that an older assassin might prove unwatchable. What neither source understands is that there has already been a successful James Bond movie featuring just what each feared, an older Black assassin. For those unfamiliar with The Equalizer (2014) starring Denzel Washington it was a film reboot of the television series that ran from 1985 to 1989 and starred Edward Woodward.Retired from being a state sanctioned assassin, Washington (using the name Robert McCall to hide his true designation as Bond) works at a menial job at a home improvement store. He battles insomnia and loneliness caused by the death of his wife by late night visits to a seedy diner that reminds one of the painting Nighthawks. There he meets and befriends a teenage prostitute (Chloe Grace Moretz, always solid) whose violent pimp awakens his own violent nature. The film develops into a series of ever increasing violent acts he must commit in order to make his friends safe from his initial act.In all but name this is what an elderly Black James Bond should be! He is again an assassin, not spy, as created by Ian Fleming. A man with a license and a will to kill. And he is good at it. No fancy gadgets or gimmicky cars or impossible skills at baccarat. And since his marriage tamed him, no bedding of random women with porn star names. It was action packed intense, had a worthy villain (played by an equally competent and violent Morton Csokas), and showed the human side of a man whose only tool is a hammer as he tries to fit into his new world. (And he nails it!)James Bond has long been rationalized as a code name and numeric designation (007) rather than one man’s real name. It makes more sense than the world’s most dangerous spy traveling under his own infamous name and being instantly recognizable to all. Retiring under another pseudonymand pretending to be an American makes even more sense.Watch The Equalizer with this in mind and I think it will add another layer of enjoyment to an already enjoyable film.I recommend it.https://www.youtube.com/watch?...
Only in Trump's dreams do Bernie supporters endorse fascism over voting for Hillary.
Serious and vociferous protests will ensue, by some, but most Bernie supporters, like me, are gonna vote Hillary over Donald.
I think most Bernie supporters will be proven intelligent enough to make a ruckus, and then vote Hillary over Trump.
So in the end, noisy is Democracy, but Trump is fascism, and we expect our convention to be noisy, getting Democrats to work together is like herding cats.
Which goes to show she didn't do her job.
Please don't use big words to describe these fuckers when one small one will do like scum.
