"Hey @Reince, did you watch the #DemsInPhilly today? That's what a deep bench looks like. And it was Day 1. You had the Duck guy."Funniest thing I've seen this morning about last night.
Thanks DNC for giving this Canadian hope for my crazy big brother to the south! I realized I have been falling victim to the endless right-wing fear and hysteria.
What struck me most about last night was the cohesiveness of the message(s), and the organization of the speakers and topics. I loved how the speakers managed to expose and blow holes in so much of what tRump says, with very few insults. And I also loved the way each speaker seemed to pick one or two tRump defects, leaving the rest of the time for positive focus and progress, instead of having to listen to entire speeches about how awful tRump is (we already know).
My favourite part (besides the inspiring speech by Mrs. Obama) was when they played the video of tRump insulting the disabled NTY reporter and then followed up with a speech by Anastasia Somoza declaring that tRump doesn't speak for her. it was very powerful - she put a face to one type of tRump's victims of discrimination. She did a beautiful job (though the chatter in the crowd was irritating).
In one night, the DNC had more substance than the entire RNC. By the time Senator Sanders finished his speech last night, I felt hope again for America. I believe the Democratic Party can unify and prove that for Americans, Love trumps hate! A wonderful start to the convention (we watched from about 7:30pm to the very end) and I'm looking forward to watching for the next few days.
You don't suppose that after being the Republican Party's abused spouse for the last thirty-five years the Democrats have decided that they've had enough, do you?
Thank you sir.
I'm sure that I am on many "lists!"
I don't care at all. I take it as a badge of honor!
