The word "Jew" (in Hebrew, "Yehudi") is derived from the name Judah.
The following Bible verse makes it clear that the "house of Judah" was not the same as the "house of Israel" and was also distinct from the "tribe of Benjamin":
"And when Rehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he assembled all the house of Judah, with the tribe of Benjamin, an hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men, which were warriors, to fight against the house of Israel, to bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam the son of Solomon." .. (1 Kings 12:21)
And so, to call all of the ancient Israelites "Jews" makes as much sense as calling all Americans 'Californians'. It is a simple Biblical fact that most of the Israelites were not Judahites (Jews) because they are the descendants of the other tribes of Israel. There is just as much reason for calling all Israelites "Danites" or "Gadites" or "Ephramites" as there is for calling them Judahites or "Jews".
just saying... because it is your vote...no matter who gets the Dem nomination they will get my vote...we cannot afford 4 years of Repub governance...so say it after me: "i will vote for the Dem... Wasserman Shultz is a moron..."
