ACORN is a handy substitute for the 'n word': At 912 event, black teens harassed by hysterical teabaggers
One People's Project has the full-length version of this video, taken from the big 912 rally in Washington, D.C., showing a middle-aged white man and his Asian wife chasing after and harassing a trio of black people -- primarily two teenagers and an adult guardian (possibly their mother) who were selling "Don't Tread on Me" flags along the long grassy mall.
As you can see, the man -- who identifies himself as Tim Jones -- shouts after them: "ACORN! These people are ACORN!!! They are frauds!!! ACORN is fraud!!! Obama sucks! This woman sells signs for profit of ACORN!!"
It attracts more harassers, and it verges on the point of an outbreak of violence when the D.C. bicycle police show up and break up the scene.
Now, how does Jones claim to know that they are actually ACORN workers? He says he overheard a police officer ask them if they were selling for ACORN and the young woman -- who appears to be a young teen -- told the cop "yes." The older woman tells him flatly they're not from ACORN, but he keeps shouting it anyway.
Most of all, Jones and his wife are harassing these people based on some shaky presuppositions: that a young teenage girl would answer a cop's question -- particularly the addition of the ACORN element -- accurately is probably the shakiest, but toss in the fact that "off brand" vendors, people who have nothing whatsoever to do with a political entity like ACORN, employing young African Americans often flock to these political events and sell whatever is selling in terms of hats, T-shirts, pins, flags, and whatever gewgaws can be sold. Cops regularly chase them off if they don't have a license.
Which is probably what these people were doing, and why they fled. Well, that and the fear of being lynched by these maniacs.
The bigger question is: Why target African Americans when there are are hundreds of vendors at these things? And why assume that they have anything to do with ACORN?
Because, to the teabaggers, ACORN is synonymous with scary black people. The kind who, in the minds of Glenn Beck and his followers, are lurking, waiting to overthrow America when Obama orders them to. (Even if they later turn out to be a dance troupe.)
As Susie says, ACORN is just the new wingnutspeak code for the 'N' word. It's now become an epithet -- one you can chase black people around with and accuse them angrily. Just what America needs right now.
[H/t Max Blumenthal.]

...with this awful shit tonight.
A really tough American, bullying teenagers.
These racist dogs hate it when minorites have the gall to exercise their first amendment rights
front for them "Acorners" to sell drugs and pick pockets, at least in Bigotville.
...out of that old punk. He'll have his day. That racist old man was clearly the aggressor, yet played the race/victim card to the end.
He wanted to provoke something and
fortunately he failed but ACORN IS GONE
either way.
ACORN is little more than a modern day Reverse Robin Hood.
ACORN Funded Political, For-Profit Efforts, Data Show
So let me get this straight; if you have concerns about a Democrat-shilling 501 c 3 organization transferring millions of dollars of taxpayer money meant to go to the poor that channeled it to politicians and THEMSELVES, and that has numerous employees that have no problem with helping people set up illegal child brothels, it means you don’t care about the poor…....
AND you’re a racist.
Got it.
Unreal.
How come you never answer any questions about what you are saying? All you do is blow gas. GOP scented gas.
If single actions damn organizations I'm sure you're calling for the corporations who have destroyed the environment, profited off of corruption, exploited (child) labor, etc to have their charters revoked. If so, we could do away with the S & P 500, there’ll only be about half a dozen left, if that. I'm sure that the rich don't use "charities" as tax shelters (David Kay Johnston has written about this if you're interested, which you aren't). I'm sure Paul Bremer at the CPA in Iraq, who can't account for about 9 billion of tax payer dollars he was given, should be hit. They after all have set up the horrific economic looting of the country, that was not only money stolen and lost but also extremely important money. I could go on. Who in their right mind amongst the right wing and “conservatives” (what are you conserving anyway but failed policies and decline?), after the freaking Bush years? Who amongst people like you would DARE even say the word corruption and not blush? NO organization is perfect. There is a difference between a corrupt organization (like 99% of modern multi nationals, corruption done right is profitable) and a good organization that has been helping poor people for decades who might have some corrupt or misguided people in it. Again, if you apply the SAME standards to all people and organizations, in other words if you aren't a hypocrite by Biblical standards, who could you not damn?
The right wing and the economic elites attack anything that can help poor people, and goons like you cheer it on ever time. These people attack anyone who can cut into their profits and power, I'm sure that's a coincidence. They attack unions because of union thugs, corruption, profitability and because of competitiveness. Not because unions raise the wages of working people and eat into profits. NOOOO. Organizations like ACORN that help working and poor people, because they're corrupt, and you aren't a hypocrite like I pointed out above. Right? You and people like yourself derail fixing the most expensive, inefficient health care system (which massive amounts of waste) because of the boogey man GOVERNMENT, or "big government" or whatever, not because it would harm the profits of health care or drug companies (who funded and lead many of the health care "protests", even giving out instructions on how to disrupt meetings with representatives) but because you want a better health care system, right? I could go on forever. You and people like you are puppets and you are amoral, nihilistic ideological fundamentalists who metaphysical concepts and ideology precede your intake of facts and logic.
I’ve also noticed something interesting about mindless people like you. You link stories like the one you linked but then never stick to how the stories progress. So, if the “scandal” turns out to be just one more lie or a story with about 10% of truth to it (forget having perspective, not being a blatant hypocrite or objectivity) by entrenched interests and the right wing who lead people like you around, you never realize this. You just remember what was initially reported, and Worldnet doesn’t do follow ups that would prove what liars they are, so what do you know? Since you do this endlessly, throughout your life, you never learn a lesson. You repeat nonsense long after the situations has been explained and you base your ignorant world view on baseless propaganda. Our country IS the most ignorant country I’ve ever been to and most it is willful. If you were interested in understanding these issues you’d question everything you’re told and educate yourself on these issues from all sides. Instead, you focus on people you’re told to hate by the very people screwing you over and as a result you are and have destroyed this country. We have a horrible health care system, environmental policy and a crumbling economy and we’re gotten far worse since government has been hallowed out and stepped back from basic social services.
How dare you point out the tea-bagger's bigotry.
"It's getting so a fella can't even wear a pointy hood and burn a cross--without being accused of racism. What is this country coming to?" (Tom Tomorrow)
and didn't stand with those people they should be ashamed of themselves. He says "the truth" made them walk away. Yeah, couldn't be a crazy ass white man following them, screaming to them, not leaving them alone, for who knows how long. It was "the truth". Obviously screaming "ACORN!" a bunch of times and calling someone names is brilliant. I'm sure they went home and thought about their place in the universe after those brilliant remarks. What they really did is go home and probably want to volunteer for ACORN. These a$$holes are the best thing, in the long run, that can happen to that organization.
You know what people should do? Make a quiz of ten or so questions (not multiple choice) about ACORN. Its history, what is has done for people, what it does now, how long it has been around, etc. Ask the people individually to take the test, without access to the internet or anything, and when they can't answer any of the questions point out what mindless puppets they are. You obviously don't say that exactly, but ask them why they are attacking an organization they know little to nothing about? I would say less that 1% of these idiots even heard of the organization before the Beck's of the world started attacking them. Like good little sheep they do as they're told. At some point the left is going to have to take the offensive. You stand up to ignorant, sheep minded bullies, you don't run away or ignore, especially when these useful idiots' stupidity is used as much as it is by the economic elites.
A couple of days ago, I had a co-worker -- a notorious NY Post reader, if you know what I mean -- in the middle of a conversation about our bureaucratic responsibilities, make some comment about how he hoped certain real estate wasn't "ACORN"; at the time, I was trying to figure out if he really had, in his head, turned "ACORN" into some nebulous "goverment" thing... but now I'm wondering if, in his sick mind, "ACORN" now was the new "welfare queens", and he was referring to the property as possibly being occupied by black people...
Republicans are assholes.
Yeah right -- of course the cops asked if they were selling them for ACORN. PLLLLEEEEEEAAAAASE -- Nice story buddy.....
Watching these crowds is kind of eerie -- Flocks of brainwashed zombies wandering around congratulating themselves.
Really.
just can't. Got though less than a minute.
It's gone beyond "Teh Stupid. It hurts" now. It's sick making that a pack of rabid cracker assholes and cracker wannabes will chase people down over this stuff, threaten their targets' safety, and actually the safety of everyone in the vicinity.
me-oww!
... one giant leap backwards for teh stupid.
when their target is a child.
This has indeed gone beyond "Teh Stoopid."
And, did you catch the aggressor's assertion, "our protest"?!? Is that not a clear message that the Angry Group is definitively partisan, and NOT the least interested in a collective effort to fix the enormous problems promulgated by the Bush regime?
Yes, I'm sure the corporate megs are jumping for joy, rhetorically speaking (since they wouldn't let slip their facades of being 'above' it all...).
Glenn Beck along with the rest of the fox holes has been pushing this hard in his hourly brainwashing sessions. ACORN is a catch word for all the ills they see in black people. Find something wrong with Acorn and then associate that with all black people. That's the method he uses to convince the racist they have been right all along.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
Nicely said. The stupid MSM knows it but won't admit it. You see it;s all about making money. The more crazies they can cover the more viewers and more advertisers. It's the Jerry Srpinger show. When someone gets hurt they'll act like they never saw it coming. Once again they'll say how could we have known. It was the crazy liberals making the charges.
Foxholes? Hee, hee, I love it!
Love it! It's exactly the right descriptor.
Only when the last tree has died
and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught
will we realize we cannot eat money.
I don't get it. Why were they not allowed there? I thought it was a public event? This ACORN thing is racially motivated. Basically what they fox is saying is, blacks are no good and since blacks are no good guess who else is no good.Barack
You don't get it? They were BLACK people. Everyone who is black is a member of ACORN. They are trying to overthrow the old white man government that has been in place for more than 200 years.
That kind of shit will just not be tolerated in this freedum loving country.
each other. Nothing ever really changes, does it?
...but you still probably need some sort of license or permit to sell stuff in public, even something as inconsequential as little flags.
Now, to be honest, the cops could've looked the other way; I wouldn't be surprised to learn that there may have been some white people selling stuff without a permit who weren't asked to leave. One COULD argue that the police were thinking they were doing the black people a favor (and saving themselves a lot of grief) by just making them leave. It's not that big of a crime, it would still require lots of paperwork, and by getting them to leave, they wouldn't have to get involved in breaking up what would've been an ugly fight with scores of angry white men and a handful of black people. Powderkeg stuff. But it doesn't change the idea that people aren't allowed to just go hawking their wares wherever they want, and if the flag-vendors didn't have permission to sell at this event, the police were within their responsibilities to have them leave.
Here's what *I* don't get. How can anyone (at least anyone NOT racist) honestly think these people were with ACORN? They were selling "Don't Tread On Me" flags at a rally filled with people decrying government intervention! Does that sound particularly ACORN-y to anyone who actually knows what ACORN tries to be? The fact that these are black people trying to SELL stuff to a ginormously white crowd pissed off that a black man is President speaks volumes to me that these people really needed the cash.
These racist dogs hate it when minorites have the gall to exercise their first amendment rights.
Edit: These racist dogs hate it when minorites have the gall to exercise any of their
first amendmentconstitutionally guaranteed rights.here's teabagger logic:
There is a direct connection between President Obama and the swine flu pandemic.

Someone who reads this blog must have the capacity to do a video to counter that one. This is a street fight, so anyone who thinks we should not lower ourselves to their level, stay home.

I'm starting to look forward to your comments, theWalrus!
Quote: "Obama sucks!"
Yeah, he was probably a tree-hugging bleeding heart liberal.
Authoritarianism at its finest.
I bet he's the type of guy who likes to preface certain stories with "I was the only white person there." Maybe OT, but I hate when I hear people say that. Minorities are used to being surrounded by whites; they don't assume they're going to be beaten or robbed when it happens. I guess my point is that Tim Jones wouldn't have gone anywhere near the Mall alone if 70,000 black people were there.
that just might be a way to stop these teabaggers, huh? Have a huge crowd of people of colour... any colour including whites who don't believe in this teabagging shite all gather at these events. It it keeps idiots like tim jones away, that'd be a great start!
I don't believe the whole story about the cop asking these people to leave and not escorting them out of the crowd. If this did happen, then any reasonable person who had a problem or saw these kids again would have promptly notified the police or security again.
This guy was acting like a vigilante by continuously harrassing these kids. He cries foul that he was punched in the face. The defense to that would be that his harrassment scared them into an act of self defense. I hope he does try to file charges and this video is played because he will most certainly lose.

Using those videos that Beck and company are so proud of with the pimp and the prostitute, they attempt to show that black people are fine with bringing young girls in to use as prostitutes. The idea being that blacks will break the law and encourage others to do the same. I dare say they could have taken that camera in lots of other places and found white people willing to do some pretty shady things, but they didn't. They were only aiming at Acorn and black people in general. The underlying theme being the President is black so therefore he too is willing to do dispicable things. That not only scares the feeble minded it plays to the narrow minded bigots who want it to be true.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
I wonder if it occurred to this guy that he might get an appearance on the talking heads shows? Might have been the reason for his prolonged performance and willingness to make a complete fool of himself. His qualifications look good so far.
Keep an eye on fox cable channel. They are probably trying to locate him even as we type our comments.

WTF? I'm sorry they didn't just stop walking and stand there. I would have stood with them. I plan on going to the next lunatic event. I have to see this for myself. It feels like we are on the verge of a civil war.
We already had ours here and everyone was calm. The fact that most of the population is pretty stoned up here helps.
there really is a good side to being stoned!

I'm just superstitious enough to hedge my bets.
doesnt that guy yelling fraud sound like he's from the boston?
If one were to witness agression of this type, step between the children and the out-of-control wing nut, and summon all the pent up rage from 2000 til now and focus it into 4 square inches of one's fist and pop said wing nut on the jaw, what would be the maximum sentence, assuming he lives ?
Just askin'...
fall under aggravated assault DC code calls for up to 10k in fines and 10 years in prison.
defending the children is what Jesus would do.
First of all, it would be a battery, not an assault. Secondly, did the perp have a criminal history? Thirdly, how busy is the DA's office? If anyone thinks they will get 10 years in prison for popping someone in the jaw, they are just wrong. Clues, Timmy. Get one.
he asked what the maximum is. And DC doesn't have a separate battery charge otherwise I would of posted that(get a clue). For standard assault it would be as follows(without any priors)
>>§ 22-404. Assault or threatened assault in a menacing manner; stalking.
(a)(1) Whoever unlawfully assaults, or threatens another in a menacing manner, shall be fined not more than $1,000 or be imprisoned not more than 180 days, or both.
If the person sustained serious bodily injury as a result of the punch say a broken jaw.
>>§ 22-404.01. Aggravated assault.
(a) A person commits the offense of aggravated assault if:
(1) By any means, that person knowingly or purposely causes serious bodily injury to another person; or
(b) Any person convicted of aggravated assault shall be fined not more than $10,000 or be imprisoned for not more than 10 years, or both.
Stick to the GOP talking points like you're supposed to be doing. Aggravated assault is a different charge than just assault even by your questionable submission of the alleged law. A punch in the jaw does not rise to the level of "serious bodily harm." It is meant to cover non-fatal shootings, stabbings, and so forth. Tip off there: the word "serious."
Also, in the legitimate defense of another person, this tea bagger could be killed and the homicide could be deemed justifiable. You don't know shit. Throwing a bit of a criminal code at someone means nothing if you don't know what it means.
Try looking up the law before you quote it, non-fatal stabbings and shootings in DC would fall under this section of code.
>>§ 22-402. Assault with intent to commit mayhem or with dangerous weapon.
Every person convicted of an assault with intent to commit mayhem, or of an assault with a dangerous weapon, shall be sentenced to imprisonment for not more than 10 years.
And whats questionable about what I posted? Would you like the link to the DC Code to verify it?
http://grc.dc.gov/grc/cwp/view,a,1205,q,44719...
Near the top, there is a link to "DC laws online"
The person was following them, telling people not to buy their flags because they worked for Acorn, what defense did they need? Considering they assaulted him and not the other way around, I don't think that defense would fly. Also most places (I can't find it in the DC code) use of lethal force is only justifiable in cases where the person has a reasonable belief of serious bodily injury or death. Again the guy was following and telling people not to buy their flags, he was not making any threats.
The alleged assault was in defense of a child.
Wouldn't you defend a child?
an alleged assault. El Kabong asked what would be the maximum penalty possible if someone hit him. I didn't see that "child" in any danger. If anything the guy telling people that they were members of/working on behalf of Acorn was in danger from them, while its not on the video he states that he was hit and someone else states that they witnessed it. Also the mother of one? of them gets in his face and appears to be poking him with the flag sticks.
But to answer your question yes I would defend a child. But I don't see any need for a physical defense in this case.
... it's usually best to follow the instructions of a police officer.
This happens all the time in protests in the San Francisco Bay Area. We have yo-yos insisting that they have a RIGHT to walk down the sidewalk, even if there's a police cordon and a violent altercation happening down the block.
You can still be arrested for 'doing nothing wrong.'
one is charged with disorderly conduct. Usually a violation and not rising to the level of a crime.

Yes I did. My guess was he thinks his country is in distress. Its a cry for help.
This paragraph taken from the "Bettsy Ross Homepage" The Flag Code states, "The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property." It is an unreasonable stretch to argue that the political purposes constitute "dire distress." Clearly this was intended as a call for immediate emergency assistance. We recommend that people who wish to express their political views find a way to do so that is respectful of the flag. Remember that to some the flag represents the government of the US and its policies; but it also represents the sacrifices made in all generations to protect our freedoms. It represents the promise of the Declaration. It represents our freedom of speech and our freedom to practice or not practice religion as we choose. It represents one nation in its stength and glory. It represents faith in a better future. We recommend that you show your respect for the country and for the flag and make your political views known in other ways. It is not illegal, it is disrespectful to the memory of those who gave their lives protecting your freedom to protest.
With a couple of them colored folks around I'm sure this guy thought his life was in danger. You "these people" are violent.

Sorry, I was already in a foul mood. This sort of stuff really gets me mad. But truly, I abhor violence.

Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
Honestly, I would avoid attending such right wing protests for that reason- number one, I wouldn't want to be shot by some psycho right winger, and secondly, if one of them got in my face, I'd become quite violent, would likely be arrested, charged, and that would end my career...So I'll hide behind the safety of my computer screen..
You're so right.
I was a substitute today at a school most members of our district call the 'ghetto high school' because the majority of our students there are low-income Latinos. On hearing one of the teacher's aids make a comment about health care, one of the older veteran teachers asked if this aid really wants the federal government to intrude further into our lives.
I just looked at her for a moment, then observed that, since we--all of us--ARE the federal government, I am hopeful that more of us will devote time and energy to performing whatever civic duties will help us fix our nation and our health care system (instead of complaining when something isn't working...even though I didn't say this to her, I suspect she 'got' this implication).
She smirked and made a disparaging remark about sheeple. I said I recognize that many US citizens are sheeple, but that this appears to be changing as more of us are becoming activists and advocating for our basic rights.
I then brought up my concerns about the corporatists who have usurped our nation. She again smirked and asked what did I mean by corporatists? I explained that less than 400 people worldwide control better than 45% of our planet's resources, including our human resources, and that--as a percentage of the world's population--this miniscule number of people would have to be represented by scientific notation with an exponent of negative seven. I asked her, "does this disparity concern you?"
She, being rather a one-note debater, smirked again, and asked if I wanted those hard-working, clever people to just 'give up what they have earned,' and I said, 'no, I'd rather those individuals explore more egalitarian economic behaviors, particularly in support of a healthier nation.' This is where I lost her--because she immediately changed the subject to nuclear power.
Somewhat taken aback by the abrupt change of subject, I told her that my activism during my early twenties was focused on the dangers of nuclear power plants, and that I have two shelves of resources that support my contention that nuclear power is costly and dangerous (if this were not true, why was the last nuclear power plant in the US built in the early seventies?). She flatly denied this, disparaged my suggestion that we focus on solar energy and ginormous wind turbines, then huffed off.
Another veteran teacher who witnessed this exchange smiled at me as we headed back to the classroom. I told her I feel like I am now relegated to the other teacher's bad side. She laughed and assured me that she has been in that particular spot for a long time, and I shouldn't worry overly much about sharing the space with her.
It'll be interesting to see if the smirking one will try to resume our debate on Monday. I rather doubt it...

MA may be liberal, and Boston has become very progressive, but we still have a very ugly uber racist right wing fringe, usually among older, uneducated radical Christian ,Irish american males- This guy sounds like he's from Southie...I've worked with uneducated racist trash from south Boston...
MA may have gay marriage and very liberal universities, but all of our talk radio is rabid right wing, and our local police are almost as bad as the LAPD when it comes to beating on minorties....
That was NOTHING like a NY accent....
It was defiantly New England- Massachusetts or Rhode island..
we are going to see a new Christallnacht very soon. These people are sick, twisted, and very very violent.
if Dave explained the video was taken by a right wing nut and posted
on right wing sites in which the man, Tim Jones, is viewed as a hero.
You have to follow the link to learn that.
Just viewing the video here at C&L my reaction was why devote six minutes to this? Here is an obviously crazed man who has taken it upon himself to enforce what he believes was a police order to some kids selling flags to leave due to what the man believes he overheard as somehow related to ACORN. Crazy folk are always at this kind of event.
In this version of the video I did not see much of a hostile mob verging on violence or the cops intervening to stop it as Dave reports seeing, but the tape is edited right after the cops are shown.
This post seems aimed at showing the ugly racist side of the 9/12 Teabaggers by showing a white man chasing black kids selling flags because they are agents of ACORN.
Yesterday, Mike's Blog Roundup had a link to a Pandagon post with an ironic twist. There they dealt with the right making a hero of Kenneth Gladney, who is described as the "65 year old black man" at the St. Louis Town Hall meeting where he was beaten by "union thugs." It turns out Gladney was, like these kids in this video, a vendor selling flags. He turned up the next day at a rally in a wheel chair where his "attorney" spoke for him. It turns out his "attorney" was the dealer who hired him to sell the flags.

The ready to rumble reaction of some commenters here does prove Dave's frequent point that media can whip people with firm views into at least keyboard expressions of violence.
"I mean Romney is the most conservative on illegal immigration and I don't think Ronald Reagan could get elected in California today."
Ann "Clipped" Coulter
Poor dumb white guys are just jealous because they got an acorn in their trousers.
"Anyone that makes less than $150K in this country, has no business voting Republican."
Was that his mail order wife squaking behind this idiot?
Many would take your comment as racist. I am one.
"I mean Romney is the most conservative on illegal immigration and I don't think Ronald Reagan could get elected in California today."
Ann "Clipped" Coulter
cuz it isnt racist
you think that woman really fell in love with that fucktard?
Acorn nuts are crazy.
"Government by organized money is just as dangerous as Government by organized mob"

"I mean Romney is the most conservative on illegal immigration and I don't think Ronald Reagan could get elected in California today."

Would have fit in quite nicely 70 years ago.....different place, different ethnicity, same "guilty because we say you are" populist crap.
And if you don't want these people feeling they are winning, then we need to redouble of efforts to support the Democrats, love 'em or not, because they're the only viable political firewall between our
country and these people.
Donate, get involved with registration and especially GOTV efforts for any Dem incumbent at risk within
at least 100 mile radius of you.
Otherwise, just posting outrage on web sites isn't going to cut it.
Do you believe that all we are lacking are a few more votes? No wonder we're getting our collective asses kicked.
I saw this asshole in "Invasion of the Bodysnatchers" every time they identified a human being. Why wasn't he wearing his Grand Imperial Prick sheet and hood? Racist scum.
Good one. It was a scene from Idiocracy too when the doctor found out his patient wasn't "scan-able"
I doubt these kids were members of Acorn. The tea baggers have the don't tread on me flags and I would guess someone running the tea bag show hired these kids to sell the flags. The kids probably took the job to hopefully make a few bucks. The idiot saw black kids and his feeble mind registered ACORN as it had been programmed to do.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
That's what created the teabaggers paranoia.
is intended to be a factual statement
That guy was yelling "AKON!! AKON!!"

That one woman sounds like Ms. Swan from Mad TV. What a bunch of ignorant white old people
And a racist to boot. No smart woman would marry a turd like him, but the kind of wife he has comes from a culture that affords livelihood through marriage only to women. Hence he found someone after all.
Now to my question. WHAT KIND OF POLICEMAN WOULD PRECIPITATE THIS EVENT? Didn't he KNOW he would trigger this kind of reaction in this crowd of insane crazies?
The cop should be tested for sanity, racism, and wingnuttery.
possible at the time. They got out safely, didn't they? These were not small town cops.
i would pay money to punch that guy in the face & get arrested for it
Another Giant Brain from Boston embarassing himself, his wife and the Hub.
Take a look at the huge YOUNG progressive, pro gay, pro diversity comminities of Cambridge and Somerville, and you see the old guard racist scum of southie and Dorchester are a dying breed...
Please don't let the 24 hr snews overshadow the great work ACORN has done throughout this country. Sure there are some problems but most organizations have them. I would hardly call their problems extreme.
Read article to see the impact ACORN has had on communities.

Study shows media manipulation
http://uepi.wordpress.com/2009/09/23/manipula...
All of ACORNs work will be for nothing after the american propaganda machine is finished with it.
BTW, BUSH GAVE ACORN 16 MILLION.
I'm glad they are going down...
It is not a major story but
it has become one. Why? Because Obama
should have seen the shit storm
coming and the same with ACORN.
To say that ACORN should have seen
or done something is not really
saying anything.
I think at 1:43 this racist right wing piece of shit called the black male 'boy'.
I wish this psycho could get in my face like this-the end result might be a bit messy...
By shouting 'acorn' and stalking these black protesters, the right wing asshole was in a euphemistic terms shouting 'ni***r'....
There is pure scum on the right.....
HE would be a very sorry old man.
To quote the great Mike malloy, when refering to the right wingers:
"My god, I hate these people!!'
Christianity seems to = hatred
The wife is every bit as aggressive and nasty as her bullying husband. They are both shameless.
I wonder how many teabaggers get chased away from these events by selling vile, racist signs, without a license?
Like other commenters have said, this guy saw black people and automatically assumed they were ACORN.
In the sea of old white faces, a few people of color stand out.
I think Beck and company have whipped up these pieces of crap into a frenzy. Here is a clip where a guy who does progressive videography(who is white and doesn't have anything to do with ACORN)went to some teabagger protest and was followed around by some idiot telling people he was from ACORN! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWqlK9A0aa8
Where he said that "this is how they work" - they keep trying until they get you to do something that makes you look bad and then they use it against you. Isn't that EXACTLY what conservatives did to ACORN??
and openly call black people 'ni***rs'?
This TIm Jones is a mental case ... I wish I'd been to punch his face ... that's what these sick disturbed freaks need to get the message that America is not gonna put up with insane harassment ... he's free to say what he like but following these people in this manner is assault.
At some point I expect someone to scream "Festival! Festival" before they go back to being nice polite subjects of Landru. (If you don't get it, ask your local Star Trek fan.)
...but the Gadsden flag they were selling has been abrogated by the right wing and teabaggers for some time, now (a shame, 'cause I love this flag). So this is like jumping on people selling "Choose Life" stickers at an anti-abortion rally and accusing them of being with Planned Parenthood.
Personally I think the left should start using the flag. It's our goddamnned country, too, and our liberty's as important as theirs. And the resulting confusion would be high comedy, indeed. In fact, while we're at it, let's start having tea parties, too.
Hey all:
I wrote the article you will find on this at One People's Project. I was at that "tea party" on Sept. 12, and I wish I saw that as it was going on. The video would not have gone down like that if I did. When I first saw it, me and my crew was particularly heated over it, and one of us made the point that they were probably not even ACORN. That is what the article was about. In the article, a ACORN spokesperson told me that they had no representatives of ACORN at the "tea party" nor would they have sent anyone for any reason, let alone sell flags. There were street vendors all over the place that day. These particular vendors were probably told to leave the area because you are not allowed to sell anything on US Capitol grounds. Mr. Jones decided to go somewhere else with this. If you notice however, the only place you see right-wingers promoting this and hailing him as a hero is on the internet. I haven't heard any of the more prominent conservative cheerleaders doing so on Fox News or talk radio. I guess is they smell something fishy too. Not that it's stopped them before. Conservatives like Sean Hannity, Michelle Malkin, Glenn Beck, and others in those circles are accustomed to getting the last word on the things they go after. Not this time. We just saw a video of someone thinking they can get physical with someone simply by calling them “ACORN!” And Hannity thinks he can further the lie about the videos that James O’Keefe did by saying he only went to five ACORN offices and found corruption in all of them. Hannity is lying. O’Keefe went to more than a dozen offices, and some of them have the police reports of them kicking them out to prove it.
I went to an ACORN meeting in Philadelphia today. They were one of those who showed O’Keefe the door. They are fed up and they will fight back. A lot of people came out to talk about the good things that ACORN has done, qne I went up and pointed out that ACORN was in New Orleans during Katrina before the President got there or even knew there was a problem. O’Keefe & Co. are also being sued in Maryland, and hopefully that will put an end to this nonsense. Like I said, the conservatives will not have the last word on this.
Oh, and Tim Jones, the guy chasing the street vendors? He wants to come here to Philly to do an interview with me. He made a video regarding that here:

I will keep you posted.
Sincerely,
