Amato nearly makes Forbes' Top 25 Web Celebs list
By David Neiwert Monday Feb 02, 2009 7:30pmJohn Amato was one of the "Near Misses" in the Forbes Web Celebs 25 list this year for his work here at C&L.
The list, as you can see, is pretty tech-heavy. In fact, Amato was the only member of the list from the liberal blogosphere. Quite an honor, actually.

Congrats John!!!!!!! That's a huge accomplishment.
C&L-ers proud. Congratulations John. I know there isn't a day that goes by that I don't get on C&L at least once.
If I don't make my daily visit I feel lost... C&L is a must visit.
used to sneak into the supervisors office at work when I was on second shift to check out C&L, especially during the election run-up.
So close. Just keep it up. We're already proud you made "Muckraker of the Day" on MSNBC. So this honor will have to wait til next year.
Congrats bud. You deserve it. Actually, I'm surprised you didn't make the top 10.
Way to go John!!! Whoot Whoot Whoot!
John,
Thank you so much for all you do to enlighten us on the truth.
You are so appreciated.
...awards are a waste of everyone's time.
infamy lasts forever.
That is great news. You are never a 'near miss' ... you are always 'spot-on' for this chick! Congratulations to you.
Congratulations! A long overdue recognition of all that hard work you've put in here.
Don't let it go to your head though. ;)
For being nominated for something!
John is the master. :P
really!
Especially as I imagine Fortune (or Forbes?) gives out kudos to moonbats only with reluctance.
fuckin A
and i think many of the regulars can take a bow too

Great job Maestro!,

I can't believe it took those weenies this long to figure out how great C & L is.
is NO PLACE for The Man!!
next year, or DOG!
Even got a decent picture too.
Keep pluggin John!
I don't mean to be nitpicky here, but that picture of John is smokin' hawt! Scrumpdillyicious.
That's not just a decent shot.
I almost did a spittake !
Damn kid, I thought you almost made People's sexiest men issue.
This site is a must read for me on a daily basis. Thank you for all your work.
just curious....
I received an email telling me I was being considered for the Top 25 Web Celebs at Forbes. lol.
So, it's nice to be recognized from time to time. We work so hard at posting content on C&L (thanks to all the contributors) that it always surprises me for some reason when the Traditional Media gives us a nod.
But it always comes down to the readers...
Well this reader is sending you a great big southern hug, John.
Congratulations!!

Been on the web forever. I recognized fewer than half of those guys by their name and only knew much about half of those I recognized. As for Drudge....
This was a completely idiotic list. If you were on it, you would probably be an obscure finance geek with considerable right wing credentials.
...to say congrats to John and the rest of the team!
it would have been for his work with Duran Duran.
I kid, congrats JA!!
Congratulations!!
"It's not personel, Sonny. It's strictly business."
Forbes? Forget about it.
C&L is one great site, forget about it.
(See mafia slang usage.)
Dear Mr. Amato,
From what I can tell from a distance, you seem well grounded. I feel confident that you'll have no problem handling a little well-deserved adulation.
THIS IS THE BEST DAMN WEB SITE I HAVE EVER SEEN!
Forbes? Who cares... What a jip.
rock on!
..4 years to almost realize what many of us C&L heads have known the minute we got here and had opportunity to take a glimpse outside of the msm bubble.
Sometimes I have the feeling that a Obama Presidency wouldn't have even been possible without this website!
Congrats John. From the sounds of some the comments, John's got some groupies from the blogosphere. I didn't know John was a musician ... cool. I did a weird al yankovich type song called Hotel Washington based on the Eagles song. I was thinking of doing one based on Skynyrd's "Gimme back my bullets" but replace bullets with "country".
