Why on earth is the moustache of understanding-- he who has been profoundly wrong about everything from the nature of the free market-- still haunting my tee vee?

Did the Longhorns or the Aggies win the game that year and get to visit the whorehouse? It's a fun movie but a long time since I've seen it...

Dolly is wonderful!
I had to correct the dj at WRR (a classical musical station).
He was playing the overature to Gotterdamerung. He said afterwards to mention a women who requested that piece always said it reminded her of Walt Disney, Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd.
I told him that Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd were from Warner Brothers, and although Walt Disney got the ball rolling with Fantasia, she was thinking of What's Opera Doc, where the director Chuck Jones actually won an Oscar for his cartoon.

Seems like he'd have something to say about it. :)

that Ayn Rand's shitty writing will never go out of print. He says things rich people want to hear. He reinforces their myths. He probably even believes it.
His laurels are a measure of how much his benefactors *want* him to be correct, not how correct he actually *is*.

He is a cheerleader for the corrupt monied class and their "freedom" to exploit those unfortunate enough to not be born with a silver spoon in their mouth. Friedman, like Malkin, like Lieberman, et. al. are all self hating morons who can't think for themselves.
Politics is for the present, but an equation is for eternity. Albert Einstein
The Repugs suddenly care about health care rationing. Obama's got an admiral defending his "un-American" bow. Does this make Gone With The Wind commie propaganda, too? Next year's graduates are screwed. The part of the country most against Obamacare is also the most unhealthy. Nevada's wells are polluted with uranium. Fascist Texas school bans tight pants. I guess the CIA tortures Arabs, because it really loves them. China keeps blowing smoke. Cali lawmakers can't take paycuts when it affects them. The kind of thought crime only the ACLU would protest is thrown out of court. The family of another Pat Tillman-like soldier wants justice. Steve Uncooley wastes time and taxpayer money raiding the L.A. Harbor for bongs. Goldman employees are finally cleaning up other people's messes, for once. An Asian carp might kill our fish supply. The KBR rape victim settles for $3 million. The Army caves in, and lets Palindrone do her book-signing at Fort Bragg. The DOJ has chosen to drop charges against the Blackwater war criminals.
"The Army caves in, and lets Palindrone do her book-signing at Fort Bragg."
What a disgrace to the soldiers who fought in the battle of, err... Ft. Hood!
Will the GOP bus in Ma Barker Bush and her 'beautiful mind' to further dishonor the dead that evil family has heaped on the USA?

Wonder what he makes of the argument by the credit ratings agencies that they are not culpable for misrepresenting the value of worthless securities because they are protected by 'free speech.' I guess that means they can say whatever they want, even if it is fraudulent, and no one can hold them accountable.

relax... Friedman will only making commentary for another 6 months...

Only when the last tree has died
and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught
will we realize we cannot eat money.
told me tonight. Her boyfriend has a dog that farts. She was settled in to watch some TV at his place and the dog started farting and the stink never went away and she had to go home. Friedman's stink will never go away.

I click on C&L and that face is the first thing I see? Eesh!!
Bill Clinton says that he can't attend the free health clinic event in Little Rock because Keith Olbermann politicized it. Ooooooooo-kay.
And what did Arkansas' lovely Senator Lincoln have to say?:
Ya think, Blanche?
Everyone is equally entitled to the pursuit of happiness. Wasn't that once self evident?
I'm continually reminded that I never did like Bill Clinton anyway, and never understood why the "left" would not believe ANY accusation of rottenness about him. Arkansans, including state troopers, were his blindly loyal courtiers and peasants back in the day, to a man, woman, and child. Not a Republican to be found for hundreds of miles around. Clinton could bring back the one-party state of Arkansas in his sleep. But that isn't what he's about.
I'm a lefty, why should I plug my ears and go "lalalala" for loyalty to Bill Clinton? (Off point, sorry.)

-- he who has been profoundly wrong about everything from the nature of the free market-- still haunting my tee vee?
I have the answer to that question. Because he is a paid corporate liar! A man that is paid to have the company opinion.
He is just another in a long line of highly overpaid corporate liars.
It is the only reason they make as much money as they do.
Republicanism/conservatism is a mental illness that is killing America!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FoXQzWsSveQ, his style.
You know that.
At one time he was down 99%, which would have put him at a measly $10,000,000. All his money was in retailing real estate.
You'd have to be a much bigger man than i am not to gloat. I wonder if it's affected his thinking at all.
Understood the importance of marrying well didn't he?
It took me a moment to recognize the PhotoShopped face staring out at me like some bull moose loony, but I finally recognized him as a New York Times columnist who wrote a book about the flattening of the world. Well, the guy took a shot and he faltered; he's a fair to middlin' writer when he sticks to globalism, but his take on the economy faltered. He wrote as if the bubble would never burst. Wasn't it Alan Watts who said that you can go more places in your backyard than on all the freeways of the world? Friedman simply lost sight of that. What was going on in his backyard was a subprime meltdown, failure of worthless Ponzi type derivatives, and an epilogue orgy of honoring the very folks who caused the problems. Forget the world, Tom. Let's start thinking about America.
"Respect for the rights of others is peace." --Benito Juarez
Because most of the teevee puditocracy programming is a pile of worthless garbage.
Just take a look at the Sunday morning roundup guests.
Most of them are professional liars.
Friedman was on Charlie Rose the other night and said that he was sympathetic with the students at UC but they just had to realize the imperative to balance the budget, acknowledging nothing of the corporate takeover of the universities and manipulations of the budget, the self-aggrandizing of the university administrations, systems' eschewing of undergraduate mission, the devaluing of faculty, the universities role in the sequestration of poor people of color and poor people in general etc... Charlie, being Charlie, challenges nothing in this regard..
You moved your ball (50 times)
...and it's never been anywhere near the cart path, or even within eye shot of the fairway.
I'm gonna have nightmares now.
Will all soon be living in abandoned strip malls owned by Friedman's old lady. He can continue traveling, writing and wanking at will.
