Jack Benny - cornerstone of American comedy from the 1930s on.

During the 1930s,40's and 50's (and well into the 60s when he was on TV) Jack Benny was something of an American institution especially around the holidays. When radio was the only form of broadcast entertainment, comics like Benny flourished and became benchmarks in the comedic form, even to this day. He is considered one of the greatest comedians of the 20th century.

Typical of the kind of comedy Jack Benny was all about is this Thanksgiving program originally broadcast on November 29, 1953. It's complete and intact.

Enjoy and pretend the TV isn't working. Happy Thanksgiving!
