From Rochester New York this week - featuring a concert commemorating Eastman-Rochester and the first concert of New American music, as performed on May 1, 1925.

Tonight, by way of NBC Radio Transcriptions from May 1, 1945, is a portion of that original concert, re-enacted. It features:

Quincy Porter: Ukrainian Suite
Bernard Rogers: Soliloquy for Flute and String ensemble
Aron Copland: Cortege Macabre

The Eastman Rochester Symphony conducted by the venerable Howard Hanson.
