Garnet Mimms - a Soul legend whose career was guided by Jerry Ragovoy.

Tonight it's a tribute to the passing of a music legend. Jerry Ragovoy was probably best known to a lot of fans as the man who provided musical guidance to Janis Joplin, and whose songs launched the careers of so many artists throughout the early 1960's. His sudden death at the age of 80, the result of a stroke, laid to rest one of the great musical forces of many years - a musical genius who left an indelible mark on our popular culture.

So by way of paying homage to the man and his immense musical contribution, I thought I would play one of his earlier successes, working with another legend, Garnet Mimms and his original version of My Baby, which he recorded in 1964 and later covered by Janis Joplin (and The Yardbirds).

Thank you Jerry for the soul and endless inspiration.
