Gates Of Eden - 1966 -caught in that curious place between Dave Clark 5, garage and anticipation of Psychedelia.

Tonight's band, I confess to knowing nothing about. I picked up a compilation album of French ep's from the 60's and this track yelled out at me. Gates Of Eden are, as far as I can tell, a UK band (they recorded for Pye, but that's not a sure thing) and song credits on this ep go to an R.A. Matthews (not a French name unless the R stands for Renee).

Anyway, tonight's track, Yha Da Da is off their solitary ep and it's an interesting mixture of garage, pre-psych and Joe Meek. Perhaps a curio, but catchy all the same.
