Here we go again with more right wingers making excuses for why there will be no negotiations on immigration reform following the temper tantrum they threw which resulted in shutting down the government and costing billions in economic damage to our country. We've heard similar arguments out of Marco Rubio and the House Republicans. This time it was Fox regular and hate talk radio host Chris Plante, carping about how mean old President Obama wants to destroy the Republican party by pushing to take up the issue of immigration again on Gretchen Carlson's new show.

As his fellow guest on the show, Fox "liberal" Leslie Marshall explained in response, they've been doing a pretty good job of that all on their own without any help from Democrats.

PLANTE: This is the scuttlebutt around the city certainly is that the president and the Democrats see the immigration “reform” bill as another pre-polarized issue that they have going in as a weapon against the Republicans. Now, certainly Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz, they are Republican leaders who have looked to advance some form of immigration reform, but don't look for any negotiating. The president doesn't negotiate. The president doesn't compromise. The president is seeking to destroy the Republican party and the Democrat coalition is a race-based coalition.

It's the black vote, the Hispanic vote. This is how they view America, not as voters, not as taxpayers, but as black voters, Hispanic voters. And this is the great weapon, another polarizing debate coming up, which I predict will go nowhere, certainly before the mid-term elections.

If there's one thing you can count on from the wingnuts like Plante, it's a big heaping dose of projection every time they open their mouths and trying to paint the other side as behaving as badly as they do. This segment was no exception to that rule. The only "plan" Rubio and the Republicans have for these immigrants is to keep them as second class citizens forever, because they sure as hell don't want too many of them voting.
