This ad sure as hell beats that ridiculous "What rhymes with Alison Lundergan Grimes" attack ad McTurtle released in the beginning of the month. Here's to hoping she sends McConnell packing: McConnell Challenger Grimes Previews Campaign Launch With Web Video:

Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes previewed the launch of her U.S. Senate campaign with a video posted online Thursday.

In the video, the Democrat actually began by revisiting a 2010 ad in support of her secretary of state campaign that featured her two grandmothers, one of whom passed away shortly after the spot aired.

"It's really for her, and people just like her across Kentucky, that I'm running for Senate — people who don't come from much but who work hard every day making Kentucky a better place for all of us," Grimes, who will officially launch her campaign on Tuesday, said in the video.

Grimes then shifted her focus to the incumbent in the race, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), who she said has "wasted decades blocking legislation that would have helped Kentucky and our country."

"And it's over the last few years, he's done it for the worst possible reason: out of spite," Grimes said. "I don't always agree with the President but that doesn't mean we can't put the good of our people ahead of the bad that comes from acting petty and small."
