Problems Logging In
All usernames and passwords are case sensitive. Make sure you enter them exactly the same way each time.
If you forgot your password then you can request a new one by clicking the “Request New Password” tab on the login form. Instructions will be emailed to you explaining how to reset your password. If you do not receive the email after 2 hours then please check your spam folder. If you don’t receive it after 6 hours then please feel free to contact us.
Changing Of Usernames
We generally do not allow users to change their usernames, however we will consider it on a case by case basis. If you have a valid reason for changing your username then please contact us and we will evaluate your request.
We have various data available on your profile that can be filled out. This information is publicly visible, so please take consideration into what you put in there. All items must conform with our End User Policy.
Crooks and Liars is not responsible for the security of your account. If you feel your account has been taken over by someone else, then please contact us and so we can investigate.
Deleting Of Accounts
Crooks and Liars does not delete accounts. If you wish to no longer use your account then please contact us and we can deactivate it. Once we deactivate your account you will not be able to reregister for a new account with that same email.
Users are allowed to upload a profile picture to associate with their account. This image will also appear with any content you create on the site and serves as a great identifier of you.
All images uploaded by the user will be automatically converted to a JPG and resized.
If you are using social networking connections with our site then you can also chose to use the image from one of those services. To change your image simply go to your Account Edit page and select the picture you want.
Using an image from a social networking site will update when you change your image on that site. Some services aren’t instant and can take up to 24 hours for the changes to migrate down to our system.
All images must conform to our End User Policy. Failure to do so can result in your removal of your picture or banning of your account.
On your account edit page you can change your signature. A signature appears below all your comments. You may also include hyperlinks in the signature. We do ask that you keep your signature simple and don’t use it for spamming purposes. We reserve the right to edit or delete any signatures.
