Of course it was Gram Rabbit's cover of the Jefferson Airplane's psychedelic classic "White Rabbit" that lured me in, but after spending hours and hours listening to Joshua Tree's best band I've really become a fan of all their music. Below is my current fave, "Shiny Monster." In 2005 the L.A. Weekly named them L.A.'s best new band. I'm not sure how widely known they are in L.A., although they've released 3 albums, but it's time for the rest of the country to start hearing this band too. (If you are in L.A. next week-- and you have a hankerin' for some unique psychedelic desert electo pop-- they're playing at the Troubadour on the 16th.)
