Republicans target Alan Grayson (D-FL) for his strong progressive voice
By Howie Klein Tuesday Apr 28, 2009 5:45amIt's no coincidence that Republicans are going all out to target first term Orlando Democrat Alan Grayson. Grayson's defeat of entrenched rubber stamp incumbent Ric Keller last year was one of Blue America's most important victories ever. Since entering the House in January Rep. Grayson has made a name for himself standing up for working families and flying right in the face of the powerful banksters who have financed the deregulatory mania Grayson aims to fix.
He's fearless and his tough, aggressive questioning of banksters at the House Financial Services Committee, frightens bribe-besotted Republicans and their crooked patrons. He didn't seen intimidated by Republican efforts to recruit a top tier candidate to run against him. Doesn't this sound exactly like Grayson?
"Any Republican in my district who wants to see what it's like to run for Congress and lose is welcome to do so. But whoever it is, the DCCC will leave welts on his back."
More about Grayson and about how much bluer this district has become at DownWithTyranny. And if you'd like to help us get Grayson's back -- here's the place.

..the GOP would not be so cocky after the loss in New York in the 98% republican district. Wait a minute, what am I thinking?
foist
I wish Missouri had a rep like Grayson!
This guy seems too good to be true. Are you sure this isn't the "Onion News Network?"
Man, we need a whole lot more patriots like this guy.
ruler as it splits the air on its way toward the target the nun aimed at, your exposed knuckles?
Come on, how can you fault prose like "frightens bribe-besotted Republicans and their crooked patrons."
Yes I still fear Sister Bridget and Father Robert. You could use
some help as well.
to prove Sister Bridget wrong, I stand accurately accused.
Of course I was only exposed to the Wrath of the Penguins in catechism class. Pardon my public school punctuation.
What is that? The word is "banker", according to the dictionary.
a combination of bankers and gangsters, which they are?
I find it clever and to the point.
Lighten up people.
Many longtime C&L readers just don't care for Mr. Klein.
you should use your free will and stop reading his articles?
But I love Grayson!!!
"standing up" or "flying in the face" you prefer?
I am not one of them.
terrorisam as the source of dissatisfaction among the "many" who either are or, are claimed to be.
Ricky you may be right. If I understood what you said in your comment perhaps I could be more positive or negative.
you didn't say but you are probably prepossessed due to the many questions you have being answered about swine flu over at Morning Martini.
maybe it a mix of banker-gangsta
Good morning:
Many of us are wondering why you hate America?
It really doesn't matter though, some of us, my husband and I included,
still have good jobs and are making enough money that we will have plenty to share with great legislators and good Americans like Congressman Grayson and we will.
Cool! And he's from Florida too. Two reasons for me to smile.
He sounds like a great guy and I wish Vermont had a decent Rep. like him. But the DCCC will never get a dime from me until they do something about putting torturers and war criminals behind bars.
The DCCC has continually disappointed me and done a very lackluster job of supporting candidates, IMHO. I simply see who I like and donate to his/her campaign directly. I feel like my money, which I work VERY hard to earn, is much better spent.
I mean, there aren't many big names who aren't scum or crooks or trying to run for a higher office.
HA!
That's outta tha blue...what's he doin in Europe anyway?
This was in my inbox just now...
I signed it.

And the guy the Republicans are going to put against him in 2010. Is Rich Crotty, the current mayor of Orange County, Fl. This guy is embroiled in a mess with the Xpressway Authority here. Money was funneled into his last campaign from contractors. Who were shook down to make campaign contributions. By the former president of the Authority. A friend of Crottys and fellow Republican.

Hey, rethug crooks; go right ahead and keep after Grayson. Maybe you'll annoy him to the point where he'll switch parties as Sen. Specter did. It'd serve you right.
