Badfinger's story has been called "the classic rags-to-riches story with a tragic Shakespearean ending". Formed in Wales in the early 1960's, the band was signed to Apple records in 1968, where they had a string of hits. Shady deals and bad business practices would ultimately lead to their downfall and subsequent suicides of principle singers and songwriters Pete Ham and Tom Evans. Here's one of my favorite Badfinger songs off of their 1971 album Straight Up.
