Rachel Maddow highlighted our Blue America ad which calls out Blanche Lincoln over her stance on the public option.

A Bad Day to Oppose Health Reform

Rachel Maddow: And of course there has been a barrage of ads taken out by progressive groups targeting conservative and potentially vulnerable Democrats like Senator Blanche Lincoln and Congressman Mike Ross both of Arkansas both of who have said they oppose a public health insurance option. A brand new ad produced by the political action committee Blue America just started running last night.

...Ad: We can barely pay our bills and Blanche Lincoln is worried about the insurance companies?...

Maddow: This is what a full court press for health reform looks like. And the terrible, no good, very bad day for the anti-health reform forces today is what it looks when a full court press is working.

There is a full-court press going on and I want to thank the blogosphere for not sitting back and letting Conservadems dictate the terms of the debate.

Digby writes:

We don't know what Lincoln's going to do. She, along with Conrad and Baucus, are the only Democrats to vote against all forms of the PO in the Finance Committee. It's hard to imagine that she's going to vote for a plan that contains one on the floor. But there is no reason that she shouldn't allow her party to have an up or down vote even if she votes no in the end. It's all about cloture at this point and we need to keep the pressure on.

Cloture, cloture cloture.

And as Howie points out, even the very shaky Rasmussen polling outfit shows she's in big trouble now:

...it's still worth noting that they are another firm, even if a compromised one, showing that Blanche Lincoln is likely to be looking for a new line of work next year.

Arkansas' Blanche Lambert Lincoln trails all four of her leading Republican challengers in the first Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 survey in the state.

Lincoln fails to get 50% of the vote in any of the match-ups, and any incumbent who falls short of that level is considered vulnerable.

And don't forget to chip in a few bucks if you can, so we can run more ads against anybody who opposes the public option.

After removing the cap that covers the tube that connects my computer machine with the series of tubes that is the Internets, part of my opening page is Yahoo news and a headline caught my eye. It seems that now 40% of the country opposes any healthcare reform down from 49% just a few weeks ago. This is the kind of news speak that most Americans get. That a high percentage of people were completely happy with healthcare as it is and didn't want any changes. The adminstration trying to fix a problem that was not only not broken but most everyone was totally happy with. The article paid most attention to people over 65 who will not be effected at all by any of the reforms being concidered. After reading that article in a vaccume people would get the impression that public is just about split 50 50 on if any health care reform at all is needed and that more than half oppose have the government involved. A sample interview:

Andrew Newcomb, 28, who works in sales and lives near Destin, Fla., said he doesn't think taxpayers should have to take on the costs of covering the uninsured.

"I don't want my tax money to pay for some pill-popper to fake some injury and go to the hospital when I don't ever go to the hospital,"

"I don't want my tax money to pay for some . . ."

* Dumb military action

* Defense contractors bilking the Gov

* Bankers and three piece suit crooks

****

There are many things my tax dollar pays for that I don't want.

I DO want ALL my neighbors, fellow citizens and anybody human to get medical care when they need it and I DO want my tax dollars to pay for it.

“The very rich, through their media, have been holding a conversation among themselves.”

“The rich use their media monopoly to starve the public of the fundamental facts of national economic life.”

The only way ordinary Americans can be sure that the full extent of their wishes are known, is to demonstrate in massive numbers too large for the MNM to ignore.

If Americans want universal health care they are going to have to ask -- no demand -- it through nationwide demonstrations for universal health care.

I know it hurts (although I don't know why) but take a page out of the French voter's handbook. They are certainly not shy about asking their government for what they want, and as a result, they have the best health care system in the world.

The ads are excellent. The next step is making our presence known. If the 9-12/teabag/he's from Kenya/we're sore losers Circus can get a turnout, surely the popular vote from last November can have a MUCH bigger turnout.

"no good, very bad day for the anti-health reform forces"

So a GOOD - maybe even STELLAR day for everybody else!

*high fives*

to draw seven flies.

Actually, five flies. Two of us are repeats.

Anyone want to bet she'll top her Senatorial low of ten comments in the first hour which she set only yesterday?

BTW I will be flaggin OT comments today in an effort to keep Blanche from artificially beefing up her stats. Like the one from Thisguy.

UPDATE; WE HAVE A WINNER. Eight commenters in an hour, with one being a blog spammer.

At this point, it doesn't matter how she votes, she has to go. Same for her House counterpart. They are beyond ever deserving to be trusted again.

)O(

.

.

Nice to see pressure on the Democrats too. Bottom line is that we need progressive reform and although the Re-pubs are a united obstruction the Dems shouldn't get to slip by when they don't support the public good.
