Drudge-NotreDame_03b58.jpg

If you were to look at Drudge's homepage yesterday, it would look like the student wearing the T-shirt that says: "Please don't ruin my graduation. Support '09 Commencement" is opposed to President Obama speaking at Notre Dame today.

Nope:

Students hold signs, wear shirts denouncing protest methods

"I want to put out positive, supportive message instead of these gory images," Baldridge said. "Our graduation shouldn't be a soapbox."

Seniors Matt Degnan and Sawyer Negro stood at Notre Dame Ave. and Angela Blvd. Friday with about 10 other students and faculty members in shirts designed by Degnan that said "Obama? Fine by me" and "Please don't ruin my graduation. Support '09 Commencement."

Drudge is really scraping the bottom of the barrel. Well, I guess he always has.

As absurd as it sounds, there is a precedent here for schools to discipline based on morality. Pretty thought provoking article below.

I'm not sure there's a fair parallel between Catholic Notre Dame and Mormon BYU, except they're both known for being former football powerhouses (ND should be in the Big-10 but that's an argument for later). The Catholic Church in general has been consumed by the right-wing ideology and hate/fear-mongering but I doubt Notre Dame would jepordize their enrollment (or football rooster) by disallowing liberals eager to pay to go there. Sadly the church is less savy, they lost my enrollment when they asked us to sign petitions to force legislation banning gay marraige, so much for the colusion of church and state the founding fathers worried about. On the other hand, there's a whooping 100 people assembled for the anti-Obama event. Wow, they must have painted over their teabag signs. Next they'll be demonstrating in front of a cancer research center because of stem-cell satanic science.

The Bottom of The Barrel!

What does the Pope say about corndogs passing in the night?

he should rename himself "Dredge".

by the fascist nazi neocon corporatist right wing MSM and the looney right wingers like Drudge.

Is he still around?

by the odor in the air?

We won you lost.

Drudges distortions (lies) reach millions around the world, while Truth stands quietly waiting to be noticed.

They want to make a statement....like the bimbos and red neck f*cktards at the tea bag gatherings. THEY HATE OBAMA! They hate a Democratic president...no matter what else.

F*CK THEM!! This is disgusting what these protestors are doing.

What you Said.
.

He rules their world, no matter what he publishes. He doesn't care anymore. Just as long as it furthers the right's agenda.

It is always great when the reich wing gets caught red handed trying to gin up a controversy. Of course they will never stop, they have no shame.

-Conservatives are stretching their vocal chords in preparation for screaming bloody murder over Obama's Supreme Court nominee, no matter who it is:

Oh, that guy that always puts up misleading headings, leading to totally unrelated stories? Kind of like HuffPost has been caught doing? Bwahahahaha......gotta give him credit for having that impressive webpage that looks like something from the 70's. Guess there isn't much money running bullshit articles.

'find common ground without demonizing each other'. that's the commonsense/intellectual approach that
some on the right fear of president obama. he wants to reduce/blur division of people. some are speaking about this controversy by notre dame but i hear little talk about obama accepting the invitation. he understands the differences but everyone should be respected/heard.

waterboarding Drudge for years with Koolaid.

Why are the 10%ers (and that is likely an exaggeration) getting 90% of the coverage on this issue. Nobody is PRO abortion. But the whack jobs who reject abortion w/o discussion (and who happen to usually support death penalty and torture; F'ing immoral hypocrites) are getting most of the press about Obama's Notre Dame honorary degree. Once again, cable news and the MSM expose themselves as enablers of the fringe, devisive idiots.

envision the future if they get their wish. Should abortion result in the death penalty for the woman, the doctor and anyone else involved? Perhaps life sentences? What would they wish the sentence to be? Would the police have to be notified if a citizen heard of someone's plan to have an abortion? Would the woman then be taken into custody and held in some sort of pregnancy detention center until her state mandated delivery? Would she then be charged with conspiracy to commit an abortion, such as anyone found with a morning after pill, including rape victims?
Instead, they just bash pro-choicers and no one in the media ever asks them any futher questions.

"Pro-Life" is a meaningless term produced by right-wing whiny a-holes that want to label anyone that disagrees with them as "pro-death" or "anti-life". It's always been pro and anti CHOICE. Very few people are anti-life. Unless you count these "pro-life" people that support the death penalty.

Using that the term "pro-life" only legitimizes their garbage.

Sorry! :( Old habits die hard...

It just bugs me when I see us buying into right wing buzz words.....like pro-life, family values, defense of marriage, etc....

Thanks for acknowledging it.

language and code words.

I always got a chuckle that these "pro-lifers" could be so adamant against abortion, and in a lot of cases... within the same breath... they can support things like the death penalty.

I take it is easier to pretend to care for fetuses, who they would most likely detest and repudiate once they germinate into full blown living human beings, than to care about things that kill orders of magnitude more humans.... like I don't know, war, famine, social injustice, etc, etc, etc.

If the technology was at this level, and we could detect "teh ghey" in a fetus, they'd be on board with a special exception for abortion so fast you wouldn't know what hit you.

I have to say though, I heard part of Obama's commencement speech on C-SPAN about an hour ago, and I really liked how he addressed the abortion controvery. He did it in a polite way, and he made his point that he is a pro-choice President, but he, and other pro-choicers can respect reasonable pro-lifers. He shared a story about an email he recieved from a pro-life doctor who had voted for him in the primary, who was turned off by a statement on Obama's campaign blog saying that more or less that the administration would fight to keep right-wingers from oppressing women.

(Frankly, I do think a very large percentage of "pro-lifers" have at least hints of misogyny, but I did respect Pres.' stance of conciliatory relations)

pretty much ALL doctors "pro-life"? I mean aside from the ones working in the morgue.

:)

anti-abortion. ;)

as once the child is born, they dont give a shit, and will fight till their last breath from having their tax money used to help out that child

this has always been about controlling the female of our species

specifically, the economically disadvantaged female of our species...as wealthy women have always had access to abortions....and got them.

but i have no problem with having roe overturned

it is time to remove a talking point from their platform

send it to the states...thats fine...then we will see if women and men finally rise up and throw the rest of the pigs out of office

With a name like that, it's gotta be good shit.

Was hampered by a VERY weak internet connection (sub-dial-up speeds) last couple of weeks. Up near you (sort of) in San Jose for a couple of days; much better connection speed. Trying to get caught up, but I've got to get back into the heat and work for a few more hours.
Hope all's well.

the heat and all. :)

Pathetic little Walter Winchell wannabe. I can't count the times I've wanted to shove that stupid hat up his rectal orifice.

in Drudges oriface.

Yes as usual Drudge is scraping the bottom of the barrel but in order to do it he has to stand on his tiptoes and reach up.I'm getting totally disgusted with these right-wing turds.

A few years ago, George Putsch was "invited" to speak at the Ohio State University graduation, and students organized the "Turn Your Back On Bush" protest where they would stand up and show their lack of respect for the pinhead. Students who did it were violently removed from the ceremony and they were cheated out of their degrees, not given them by OSU.

I highly doubt that even one of the anti-Obama people is even going to be asked to remove the t-shirts, never mind be assaulted for wearing one.

I have read elsewhere thet Drudge is a flaming closet homosexual Christianic extremist however nothing I have ever read ever offered even a hint of evidence. Until now.
