Digby saw this QOTD in the LA Times and it was too good not to re-post:

The disbelief that ricocheted around the nation Monday at Zimmerman's latest high-profile encounter with the law was summed up piquantly by the police chief of Lake Mary, Fla. After answering the 20th media call of the afternoon, Chief Steve Bracknell told a Los Angeles reporter what he really thought of the man acquitted in the killing of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin.

"Man, it would be fantastic if you have an apartment out there [in California] for George Zimmerman," Bracknell said. "This guy is killing me.

As Digby says, we have enough yahoos in California, but it highlights the character of the man that the right wing defended so viciously when he shot and killed Trayvon Martin. Karoli wrote a good post about him yesterday, so I won't rehash the story, but it's no coincidence that Zimmerman has been having all these run ins with the law. He's a super aggressive nut enamored with law enforcement and who always wanted to be a cop, but failed the tests.

Prosecutors in the Trayvon Martin shooting case have informed the court of a new exhibit that they claim shows defendant George Zimmerman once applied to become a police officer.

A filing by prosecutors this week included a description of an application from Zimmerman and a rejection letter from the Prince William County Police Department, but no explanation of what they plan to do with it.

On TV these types of people usually end murdering a whole bunch of police or civilians, but that...errr....actually, he has already killed an unarmed black teenager for no cause at all. If I lived anywhere near him, I'd stay at least 100 yards away. Maybe Lake Mary can file a restraining order against him to stay away from their entire population.
