"Think about how you'll feel on November 5 if you wake up in the morning and see the news, that Barack Obama -- that Barack Hussein Obama -- is the president-elect of the United States," Platt said. The audience at the Lehigh University arena booed at the thought of it.
"The number one most liberal senator in the United States of America was, you guessed it, the ambassador of change, Barack Hussein Obama," he added.

Audience members participated in the Obama critique by shouting words such as "liar!" and "socialist!"

Whats sickening, and I'd love to see Obama call McCain out on it is why the PALIN/mccain campaign is deliberately trying to stoke hatred against Obama. If Obama wins, McCain is HURTING America by poisoning a % of the population, not to just disagree with the next president but to truly hate him.

In last night's ABC interview w. charlie gibson, on the bus, mccain referred to ayers and obama as "two washed-up terrorists." Gibson completely ignored the comment.
Let's get this straight: he called a sitting US SENATOR a TERRORIST? and a f*cking "journalist" doesn't say "What!!? Are you calling Senator Obama a terrorist?"
Was I the only one who heard this, or am I finally going out of my gd mind and hallucinating.
When a supposed reputable journalist sits idly by and permits this type of commentary in the public arena, they not only have no credibility or professionalism but can now be charged with "aiding and abetting" the intention to incite violence in public.
Call for the immediate removal of Charlie Gibson and/or any journalist who sits idly back and abets the disgusting attacks.
Charlie Gibson and John Roberts should know better but they've become part of the problem and are tanking their networks now.
We expect this type of bigotry and abetting of domestic terrorist talk on Fox news (which, BTW, is in violation of the Patriot Act and subject to lawsuit if nothing is done but that's already in the works against these two men this morning) but we now can't feel safe watching ABC, CBS, or CNN.
Ditch all three networks because they've got lockstep nazis acting as journalists. Boycott them and their advertisers and put them out of the news business if they refuse to do their job.
Forewarned is forearmed. We do have ethics in journalism; we do have laws governing what can and cannot be said on the air.
These individuals and their stations need to be forewarned that the people will take this to the max and will proceed with lawsuits against the ethics and legality of what they are doing. The video evidence is gathering like a huge storm on the horizon against these journalists individually and collectively and the people will hold them to the behavior they must exhibit under the law.

I don't remember where I found the link, but the report I read said that the Secret Service takes these threats VERY SERIOUSLY, but since they weren't sure that the threat was made against Obama or Ayers, they were going to drop the investigation. That's like the fire department saying that they've heard reports that there's a fire, but they're not sure which street it's on, so they're just going to ignore it.
Like many Canadians I've written into blogs before saying that John Roberts was a video jockey named JD Roberts for MuchMusic in Toronto for years. His journalistic training was interviewing Duran Duran. It is endlessly fascinating for us to see him perform as a big-time news anchor in the US. He has absolutely no solid background as a seasoned journalist. He was groomed to be the kind of anchor William Hurt played in Broadcast News and that's it. I've been in Canadian television news and current affairs for years and John Roberts was never even a blip on our journalistic radar screen. It's like taking one of the dimwits from The Hills and asking them to replace Brian Williams. It's no wonder Roberts sounds like he's towing a company line when he's on air--that's all he's ever done.

Our television crapped out last year and we replaced it, but our new
television is far more sophisticated and you need cable for reception.
We have not subscribed because it became clear that it would be a waste

Journalists that at least used to have a veneer of impartiality are
now totally in the tank for any Republican candidate. I've never been able to watch news on FOX because it's always been too sensational and
too poorly written.
For now we rely on online news and blogs for our information. We watch
The Daily Show and Olberman on our computers. We use our television to
view DVDs that we purchase at our used record/video store.
We miss some of the local news, but my fellow nurses at the hospital I
work always give me their take on whats going on and if I'm interested I
can look up the news. Frankly, we really don't miss it.

What is most disturbing here is the possibility for violence. Forgive me, but what if someone takes a shot at Obama? What if someone actually kills him? What will these mobs say then? I was talking to my friend yesterday and we both agreed that even if McCain wins the election, the thought of which scared us both, how is he going to unite America running such divisive, vitriolic and vile campaign ever? There was a time when I used to like McCain. He was for me the idol of what Republicans should be. But by such divisive mentality, McCain may not only lose the election, he may lose whatever integrity he has intact. This is a sad downfall of what I used to once consider a gritty man with lincolnesque appeal. He is desperate and is ready to throw any cards at his disposal without thinking clearly and properly. This man has lost even an iota of respect I had for him. He is clearly wrong and if he gets elected, this will be one of the most disastrous decision we as Americans have made in our history.

Capitalists and conservatives may not like to face reality, however the truth is capitalism is harmful to both the working poor and middle class Americans. Daily for almost eight years we have seen our rights torn away to feed the insatiable hunger of Wall Street, and the wealthy for increased profits. A growing majority of Americans see their lives spent laboring without getting any closer to the basic needs of life met. Can the conservatives really be the so surprised that working Americans can find socialism attractive when we can't afford to buy a home, while CEOs and the people on Wall Street receive millions.
I won't accept the capitalist and conservative lies and excuses that the working poor are where we are from choices we make. I work 40 hours a week, arrive to work on time, don't call in sick, and my employers can depend upon me. I don't blame my employer, she pays me what she can being a small business owner. There is plenty of those responsible though. The energy companies, mortgage companies, and Wall Street among others drive up inflation, as they do all they can to keep wage as low as possible.
Despite what capitalist, and conservatives believe, not everyone wants to be rich. I work for, and dream of owning as basic and modest of a home possible, the chance to retire someday, and leave this world in a home as I say goodbye peacefully to family and friends. In a nation as wealthy as America there should be a quality of life where we can all do this. I am not ashamed of being a socialist. Along with other Americans of the working poor, and middle class I shake my fist, and raise my voice against greed and economic oppression.
