News Corp isn't the only corporate media donor

CNN has taken pains to give Murdoch some PR cover with their not-so-subtle list of donors to both parties.

General Electric, which owns NBC, has also made substantial political contributions in the 2010 election cycle. For example, GE donated
$688,900 to Democrats through its PAC this election cycle compared to $410,100 to Republicans
. The company has also given $75,500 to Democratic-affiliated leadership PACs and $74,500 to Republican-affiliated leadership PACs.

Meanwhile, GE has donated $237,000 to the Democratic Governors Association and $205,000 to the Republican Governors Association.

Time Warner, the parent company of CNN, has given $60,000 to the Democratic Governors Association in the 2010 election cycle, according to CQ Moneyline. Meanwhile, Time Warner Cable, a former subsidiary of Time Warner, donated $50,000 to the RGA this election cycle.

There are more, too. On the other hand, it's worth noting that News Corporation donated one million dollars to one party only, unlike the others CNN mentions.

Beyond the way it appears, News Corp. may have another problem, too.

Nice try CNN with your false equivalency.

The point is Fox gave $1 million to one party only. And they are on the public airwaves.

Next CNN GOP bulls**t smokescreen please?

If I were a psychopath, I would join the republican party, and get in on the gravy train taking the Teabircher morons to the cleaners.

Claim that Fox is the only station which carry the water for republicans. But if you notice Fox , Rush , Beck , O'Reilly starts the lies and deceit and the other corporate news media keep it rolling.

See as long as some others give to both
News Corp should get a pass
on being so one sided?

Even lower primates have a sense of fairness.

These GOPhers don't.

The corporation itself did. See where this is going? The corporation, a person on its own, but not an "employee," does not have the legal obligations of real people. And if some pissant, and I mean that in the real definition of the word, someone overly concerned with petty details, starts talking about filling out documents, etc., I will be annoyed. Really annoyed.

However, I would really welcome a discussion about the implications and anticipated outcomes of "Citizens."

If they have any loose change lying around, I'm happy to take it.

Vote GOP and move forward to the 18th Century.

wishes they could be Fox. Instead, they're a very sad Fox News Lite.

NOBODY 2012

First, they are using the PAC figures for GE. Murdoch sent a corporate check to the GOP, not an employe PAD total.

Secondly (and the really important thing) GE is a multi-branched conglomerate with their fingers in several different businesses, such as finance, manufacturing, appliances, nuclear and hydro power plants, etc.

NBC/Universal accounted for only 9.8% of revenue, and 12% of GE's corporate profits last year.

The ONLY business of NewsCorp is diseminating right wing lies, whether here, Canada, England, Israel, Australia and even China through their SKY satellite division, etc.

Media conglomerates making huge cash donations to political parties? Very undisturbing.

Great work karoli & crew...

"it's worth noting that News Corporation donated one million dollars to one party only, unlike the others CNN mentions."

The information about these political action committee(s) influence is in deed informative, though it's the influence that's not reported... that I'd like to know. Can we find out if these churches on our army bases (TX & KY)... the ones Jeff talks about in the link, actually been built?... if so... who got the contract?

People can lie about numbers... but numbers don't lie about themselves...

The above just highlights Faux's fundamentalism, the other outlets are relative accordingly. "It's located under the Big W" ;P

With FOX News Corp giving a million to GOP governors pac.
How does Americans tell the difference between FOX News Corp second largest share holders money and FOX'x Rupert Murdoch's money??

We all read the reporting that a Sudi Prince is the 2nd largest share holder in FOX News Corp.
16 of the 19 0/11 terrorists were from Saudi Arabia (a dictatorship).

Hay, Justice Alito,
How does an American voter tell if this money is Murdoch's or the Saudi Prince's money that is influencing our upcoming election?

Not to mention that republicans will have free access to FOX media 24/7. Free access and favorite pet access. Hell, should the republican party be on the FOX News Corp payroll?
