It's difficult to pigeonhole Rasputina into one musical category, and that's the way founder Melora Creagor likes it.
Blending cellos and percussion instruments with a touch of goth, classical, and rock influences, Rasputina's appeal is broad. Tonight's selection, The Olde Headboard is perhaps a tad more mainstream than some of their material, but still captures their intensity and deep creativity. They have toured with Marylin Manson and Melora Creagor toured with Nirvana on their final tour. Their song Transylvanian Concubine appeared on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and also appears on Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Album.
