April is Genocide Prevention Month, commemorating the eerie coincidence that the genocides in Darfur, Rwanda, Cambodia, Bosnia, Armenia, and the Holocaust all have their anniversaries in April. This haunter about the killing in Darfur by Boston protest band State Radio seems appropriate. There's a lot more great music and a studio version, sans video, at their MySpace.

Not a lot of artists take on subjects this heavy-handed, but some have delivered their best work in this vein. What are your favorites?
