Everyone's an economist these days -- even Tommy Lee and Nikki Sixx. And why not? Maybe we need entrepreneurial merch whores like Gene Simmons and Nikki Sixx to fix the economy. No, we don't.

Anyways, here are Motley Crüe as Motley Fool via Rolling Stone, talking about their upcoming tour which launches July 19th:

“On the first Crüe Fest, the economy was pretty much the same as it is now, and it didn’t seem like it affected sales at all,” says frontman Neil. “I think people still want to go out and have a good time, listening to some good rock music, and maybe forget about the sh*tty economy, have a couple of beers, and let loose.”

“When the economy goes to sh*t, entertainment is the one steady,” adds bassist Nikki Sixx. “That and alcohol. Ozzfest also paved the way for us to think about what we wanted to do in the future, and I’m excited to see that it’s had its run and it did what it did for a lot of fans, and hopefully, we can do the same thing.”

Anyways, the economy was not the same as it is now in July 2008, during Crüe Fest 1, and it's adorable to watch the ways in which the "things aren't really all that different now" spirit which keeps many of these bands touring knows so few boundaries.

Regardless, they will be playing Dr. Feelgood in its entirety, and that album pretty much just seethes lowbrow awesomeness.

Apologies for the non-video video, Universal Music Group doesn't like embedding.
