"This year, we gather yet another international delegation to deliver aid to the women of Gaza and to expose the horrendous costs of war, weapons and occupation. Women now have to care for the physical and emotional wounds in their families and communities, while dealing with their own broken hearts. They face shortages of water, electricity, food, medicine, heat, fuel, and shelter. Some neighborhoods have been almost totally destroyed; and over 100,000 people displaced from their homes.
According to the United Nations, "Children are hungry, cold, without electricity and running water, and above all, they're terrified. Women are at greater risk of maternal death and or injury as maternity wards are being used as surgical facilities to treat the wounded."

George Galloway (one of my heroes) has been an outspoken individual on the unnecessary war in Iraq, the attacks on the Gaza and so much more. A convoy left the U.K. in Feb and headed for the Gaza. Today George Galloway is trying to make his way into the Gaza.

A convoy led by the maverick MP George Galloway carrying supplies for Gaza has been attacked in Egypt, apparently injuring several people travelling in his party.
The convoy, carrying aid worth £1 million, was pelted with stones and vandalised with anti-Hamas slogans after it stopped overnight in El-Arish, a small town around 28 miles from the Rafah border crossing with Gaza.

A Hamas official on Monday hailed controversial British MP George Galloway as a "hero" upon the lawmaker's arrival in the Gaza Strip.
Galloway entered Gaza from Egypt with an aid caravan. About 50 British and Scottish volunteers and 100 vehicles carrying food, clothing and medicine passed through Egypt's Rafah border crossing with him, a Hamas border official said.
Receiving the activists, Ahmed Kurd, Hamas' minister of social affairs, thanked Galloway for the "noble goodwill gesture" and called the lawmaker a "hero."

Galloway, who was expelled from Britain's ruling Labour Party in 2003 over statements he made in opposition to the Iraq war, said a total of 300 British citizens and 200 Libyans would be entering Gaza.
After entering Gaza, Galloway called the aid a drop in the ocean, but said the trip was to send a message that the lifeline from Britain to Gaza is in.
Other aid, including electrical generators and a fire engine, would enter Israel, where the British delegation hoped to get it into Gaza through coordination with the International Committee of the Red Cross, the official said.
Israel allows daily convoys of aid into Gaza and denies that there are shortages of food, fuel or medicine there.
On Sunday, activists belonging to Galloway's "Viva Palestina" convoy clashed with Egyptian security forces in the north Sinai town of el-Arish, close to the border with Gaza.
