That's the cab that got away, I guess.
I'm hoping the wingers follow the advice from Karen Hughes and co., that would be all we could ask ... and thanks for the link.
The always lovely Ann Coulter's latest screed includes these nuggets:
"After showing nearly superhuman restraint throughout this campaign, which was lost the night McCain won the California primary, I am now liberated to announce that all I care about is hunting down and punishing every Republican who voted for McCain in the primaries. I have a list and am prepared to produce the names of every person who told me he was voting for McCain to the proper authorities.
...For now, we have a new president-elect. In the spirit of reaching across the aisle, we owe it to the Democrats to show their president the exact same kind of respect and loyalty that they have shown our recent Republican president."
The one that was appointed by the supremes, and then broke practically every law both domestic and international?
They wanted the makings of a Police State, they got it.
It is a double edged sword that can cut both ways.
So Coulter is suggesting that the Republicans role over and let Obama do anything he wants?
partisan political hackery, congressional obstructionism, and neo-con falsehoods in the name of "fixing" the nation's problems to PLEASE send me some of whatever you're smoking.
Just a bud or two would do fine, cuz it's gotta be BRAIN-FUCKINGLY GOOD SHIT...
Great WSJ article. Well worth linking to the entire article from Mother Jones. The last two paragraphs should have been included in the Mother Jones article. They were the best.
It is not just AIG, here is a WaPo article on the stealth revision of tax law 'section 382' which, it is said, will mean a some $140 billion tax windfall for banks. That also reads a $140 billion shortfall for the Treasury
But, it is a Predator State, what would you expect?
The plunder is vast and multifaceted.
takes his measuring tape to the WH today so he can work on the drapes.
The USSR propped up their economy?..u doo?..worked for awhile, then (((CRASH)))!!!!

There should be laws on the size of companies. No company should be "to big to let fail". Do like they did with the telephone companies way back when, that had a monopoly on things. Break it up into managable companies so this does not happen again.
AIG needs to be curtailed. It's ridiculous.
And America has never benefited from exulting ignoramuses, but boy, it's refreshing to see the anti-empiricism, anti-competence ticket lose this time.
