mainly to ensure as much as possible that the sludge-sucking sewer-dwellers feeding his troglodyte media out-falls would have targets of sufficient richness to preserve the hegemony of his Rightard morons on the airwaves.

I was under the impression that everyone understood that the AARP had been taken over by insurance/corporate interests many years ago.

It should be the law, and was the law for a very long time, that Hospitals were to be non-profit only.

I've been telling my senior friends for years the AARP is an INSURANCE COMPANY. The last thing they want is universal health insurance. AARP lost 57% of its members when they backed bush's drug rip-off. I remember the form from bush asked: List all cash you have,at home or anywhere else. You go first bush?

She was the GOPuke functionary/Bushevik Loyalist at the Justice Department whose job it was to vet potential Department 'career-hires' (covered by Civil Service protections) for their ideological purity and Regime loyalty. There were hundreds of them at Justice, before the scam was uncovered in the dust-up over Fredo Gonzales' dismissal. Most STILL remain on the payroll, and will remain there until they either die or retire, because under the rules that were broken to hire them, their jobs are protected from 'political' interference.

Got it? Good.

It would require credulity of an absolutely monumental scale and scope to believe there WEREN'T other "Monicas" in every single Department, Bureau, Office, and Commission in the Federal Government, but whose machinations were NOT exposed to the light of day and who have positioned enclaves (perhaps 'cells' would be a better term) of God-fearing, GOPuke/Bushevik clones in the works of every Department, Bureau, Office, and Commission in Government.

If it weren't illegal to do so, Obama's first act as President should be a blanket firing of every employee hired into ANY Government job or position whatsoever since Feb 1, 2001...

the univ of Tenn survey is too difficult to read. they need to add color bands or lines between the questions. i did my best through a few screens and then gave up.

I got through it all, BUT there was a major red-flag question for me. I don't know what the definition of a poll where there is only one or two questions of import, and the point of the poll is to find people who answered "x" to 'Question # y'. It's about mid-way through, where they ask your political activity. There were four questions, Would You Consider Ever...?
Signing a Petition, Boycott, Attend a Lawful Demonstration & Take Over a Factory or Building. I didn't answer that last one. The boys at the DHS would _love_ a list of emails of the people who answered positive to that last question. Why, they might even spring to fund the study, or at least underwrite a new campus building...

Yes, I'm a bit paranoid about our government. After 8 years of Bush, it's second nature. But don't scoff: this survey may be innocuous. It may not be. After being harassed in airports on more than one occasion, the threat from the government is very, very real.

)O(

Maybe Obama can offer me a job.

I could be minister of disinformation.

(Does that mean I have to attend the seminary first?)

I took the poll, but those things are always problematic. Political websites versus political blogs, for instance, was an odd distinction, especially since in the early going they mentioned political party and candidate websites as well. They also didn't allow comments, and there's a significant qualitative difference between the accuracy of liberal versus conservative blogs. The one thing it did highlight for me was how inconsequential the venue was – for instance, I listen to NPR in the car and online, but it's the same content and I don't care about method of delivery. That's more an issue for marketing departments.

Thanks for the link, Mike.
