The Satirical Report was a pleasant reminder. There's so much that I have forgotten since my school days.

EPA's Lisa Jackson Not Happy With the Way the Climate Bill is Progressing - http://thehill.com/blogs/e2-wire/677-e2-wire/...

India backs Copenhagen climate deal - http://www.grist.org/article/2010-03-09-india...

A Good Climate Bill Will Be Strong, Not Easy - http://www.treehugger.com/files/2010/03/a-goo...
The Pentagon made the point quite simply in its 2010 Quadrennial Defense Review: “Climate change and energy are two key issues that will play a significant role in shaping the future security environment.” We hope Congress will take this to heart and do what’s right for the country; not what’s easy for the Senate.

Tom Friedman is Wrong: No Amount of Sequestration Will Make Coal 'Clean' - http://www.grist.org/article/2010-03-08-vinod...

Tom Friedman should stick to free marketeering: Let's Not Forget: Even Without CO2, Coal Would Still Be Very Dirty - http://www.treehugger.com/files/2010/03/coal-...
David Roberts over at Grist has a great rebuttal of Thom Friedman's latest column in which he and investor Vinod Khosla seem to overlook many of the problems caused by coal mining and coal burning.
Getting coal out of the ground is horrifically destructive to both ecosystems and human communities. Burning coal is also horrific. It leaves behind enormous quantities of heavy metal-laden coal ash, often in uncovered impoundments, from which ash drifts onto local communities. Into the air it releases not only CO2 but sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxide, volatile organic compounds, mercury, arsenic, lead, cadmium, and smog-forming particulates.

Calling out the liars: 34 Of 41 Senate Republicans Supported Passing Major Domestic Policy Legislation Through Reconciliation - http://thinkprogress.org/2010/03/09/34-gop-re...
As the outlook on passage of health reform improves, Republicans have shifted to a new obstructionist strategy: attacking the process of reconciliation. Republicans claim that reconciliation was only intended to be used for bills dealing closely with the budget.
In fact, when Republicans were in power, GOP lawmakers used reconciliation numerous times to pass major domestic policy legislation, including the Bush tax cuts in 2001 and 2003 and important changes to health care policy. In fact, 34 of the 41 Senate Republicans have used reconciliation in the past to pass major pieces of domestic policy.

Ernest F. Hollings : Washington's Job Fraud - http://www.economyincrisis.org/content/washin...
Washington engages in the grandest fraud on jobs. An important part of the job fraud is to make the people feel like the loss of jobs is due to the recession, not off-shoring.
A 'free market'...will always ship jobs to the lowest bidder...slave labor is the life blood of this idiotic 'concept'.... You have to change the rules of the game, you have to change the laws...you need to elect leaders that aren't scared of the multinational cartels, WTO, IMF, World Bank....the ones that understand the future belongs to who can make things at home & embrace so-called 'protectionism'...we could use a lot of that right now, eh?
