A UN official, Richard Falk, tasked with monitoring human rights abuses in the West Bank was turned away upon his arrival at Ben-Gurion airport. Israel accuses him of being biased, especially in light of his comments comparing Israel's treatment of the Palestinians to the Nazi treatment of Jews in Nazi Germany. It's worth mentioning that Richard Falk is Jewish.
Ironically, the UN's previous investigator, John Dugard, compared Israeli treatment of Palestinians to apartheid.
I wonder why Israel is having a hard time shaking that negative image. Hmmmm [/snark]

Shoes are nice things to put on your kids' feet, and highly satisfactory to fling at a vulture that is eating the kids. Maybe for my inaugural t-shirt I can get a flying shoe designed for the back of it.
Seriously. George is responsible for the deaths of literally thousands of Iraqis, and all he got was a shoe thrown at him? Wow.
That says it right there.
It is the end of the American Empire.

It's gonna get real bad. In all the years in my field, I have never seen the company phone not ring for more than a month. That happened this year, just before we basically shut down. Merry Christmas wasn't even offered. I kid you not.
Some on here have accused me of being a "scab". Ya well, I would much rather feed my family, and still live in my house, than do what I'm doing now. Nothing. And prob doing very little into the future year as well. It sounds noble, and melodramatic, to hold onto the lie that you can force a company to employ you to do nothing, but the real fact of the matter is, I won't be the only member of my industry not earning an income.
Hopefully some organization or blog will start raising money "Shoe Thrower Defense Fund".
This guy needs to know he has our support
or did bush actually seem to enjoy being challenged to a game of dodge-shoe? he seemed to be disappointed that he couldn't showcase his dodging skills anymore. it was surreal to watch (overandoverandover)
and, hello secret service, wtf? dude was able to launch two hush puppies before he was tackled.
after a severe iraqi ruling class beatdown, it seems that the journalist has become a national hero. could this be a rosa parks moment for the downtrodden iraqis?
Let's hope they put up a statue of this guy in Baghdad. He is one of my heroes
..is a little disconcerting, really.
Just wrote to Code Pink asking them to start a “SHOE THROWER’S DEFENSE FUND” Please contact them or anyone other group that would have the where with all to get such a fund started. This man needs to know that he has our support, admiration and appreciation
Please contact Code Pink or anyone else that could pull this off

this recession that BUSH and company denied could really deepen and flat bottom. this coming next 12 to 18 months we could see even more foreclosure(s) and commercial property having problems. currently
one in seven home owners(mortgage) is in some type of foreclosure status. more unemployment will
have a dire effect. BUSH needs to get off his ass and do something. obviously he wants to hand off the mess
to obama.
If you think Busch is going to do anything of substance in his final month, then I'll have some of what you're smokin.
He has gotten the Treasury and Federal Reserve to dole out over $2 Trillion to his crooked buddies, the Wall Street Bookies.
How much more do you want him to do?
I have reviewed this again and again. Watch it and weep.
Several credible analysts say it could be $15 - $20 Trillion in Mortgage Backed Securities and related Credit Default Swaps before the entire thing clears out.
If they pay off all of those gambling debts with our money, we are ruined.
We may be ruined anyway.

Great stuff from DCap and Night Light.
Andrew Jackson never makes these "Worst President" lists? He was a mass-murderer, for eff's sakes.
